DS 2 HEE HEE HEE

Post by R3C »

So what they've decided to do is turn DS into Diablo?

GB: Can you detail the different character advancement options that you're adding in the sequel (powers, skills, etc)? How much more customization freedom will players have for their characters?

Kevin: Rather than create new character classes, we've taken the original four character classes from the first Dungeon Siege and added considerable depth to each of them in the form of skills and powers. This allows players to choose not only their character class, but also what 'type' of fighter, ranger, or mage they'd like to be. For example, players may choose to be a ranger specializing in bows and crossbows or thrown weapons by spending skill points in the appropriate skills. The decision of how to spend skill points when a character levels up and which powers to get puts a lot of freedom in the hands of players when deciding how a character should progress.

I like Dungeonblo :D

I remember you telling me during the developement of DS 1, that they were "going after Diablo." I actually thought DS turned out a bit better in most aspects. (Though I agree that there should be more "evil" in it.) I liked Legends of Aranna ok. It had some cool locations, decent little quests, and no Pit of Despair or whatever that bloody shite hole was. I started working on the early bits of DS2 before I left MGS. It looked kinda cool, but it was too early to tell. It looked like they started using pixel shaders for water, and other assorted wackiness. So it looked very similar but a bit more polished. It was too early to tell what the gameplay was like though with the maps we had.

Anyway, I will probably want to pick up LoA and DS2 at heavily discounted prices when they hit the bargain box. Or maybe I can get one of my friends at MGS to grab me a copy or two.

Excellent! I'd like a copy of Dungeonblo! Do they have Farmboy? With "Action Industrial Accident Hands" ???? That would be cool!

Too bad one can't get the Hoe of Destruction.

Actually I think the Rake of Retribution would be better.

Or, the Trowel of Torment!! Yes, that's the one.

The Trowel of Torment Plus Four of the Owl

WWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope my copy has a cloth map. I still have the DS1 cloth map. :D It's with my Ultima Ascension cloth map. Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Now, if I just had an Ultima 7 and an Ultima 8 cloth map, I'd be oh-so-happy. I've always wanted a cloth map of Pagan.

I am still holding on to delusions that I will someday go back and finish Dungeonblo. Maybe I'll just play Dungeonblo 2: The Cudgel Returns instead.

I got into Guild Wars right as I was starting to enjoy DS2 and forget about the terrible voice acting. Haven't touched it since. Perhaps I should toss it on the laptop.

That could be very interesting if done correctly. I would love it if they added some galaxy exploration ala Star Control 2. Execute various quests on multiple planets... Stuff like that...
