Last nights attempt was great!
I was never able to play, but I observed one of the funniest IM converstations ever, and that made it well worth staying up till 1am. Nobody except J3RK had anything under control. Sparkle was having input problems, Ryland couldn't type for shit and kept getting ditched by everyone, kevin wouldn't respond on IM for 15 mins at a time for some annoying reason, and I didn't even have the game downloaded yet. Absolute Chaos! So thank you all for the good laughs!
I'm calling Atari today to finagle them out of a key.

That was every bit of the catastrophe I figured it would be. J3RK and I had a bit of fun having a little quad-jumping olympics but that was about it.
Between broken computers, earthquakes in Tokyo, really annoying jerks on messenger that can't multitask enough to respond on Messenger for 15 minutes while we just sit around waiting for someone to start a server, and lack of cd-keys, it was pretty much a disaster.
Oh well. Barring those unfortunate circumstances it really wouldn't be all that hard to organize a game between people in Seattle, LA, Santa Barbara, San Diego, and Tokyo. Can you or can you not run a cracked server for this game?

Unlike you I do not have two computers to which i can play and messenger at the same time. I had dustin on the phone, the game running and messenger open. I have to wait 20 seconds to switch out of direct 3D, to go back to windows to read any new message.
My girlfriend came home, and i went out to smoke... i told someone id be right back. Anyway I hate that fucking program messenger, thats why i never use it.
Why was all the server creeation responsiblity pinned on me? Why didnt you make one. My pc reboots every five minutes

Well don't get so defensive. You were the one in contact with J3RK and therefore you were the only one in a position to coordinate anything like that since you could talk to anyone. Also, J3RK had earlier mentioned he was planning to run a server...
It was poorly executed from all angles. But it was mainly Beeeph's fault.

I've got them both installed. Kevin did an excellent job considering the circumstances. I'm up for later tonight. Don't know what time yet though. Choki will be here, so we can take turns or something. I heard a play-by-play from Kevin about all the complaints coming from 3nder, while I took all of 5 minutes to drop out, set up my router, start a game, and get back going. I think earthquakes were the only good excuse last night. Let's just blame it all on earthquakes. Beeeph, did you get your key? Let's try to keep out those internet wack-jobs...
No key as of yet. I'm gonna have to host a few games if I wanna play. I'll host all dyam night, I just don't give a fawk. I installed those two extra assault (i think?) maps, but that fansitekit appeared to be a bunch of screenshots, wallpapers, and a few extra song files...nothing really useful. Is there anything in that pack I should definitly install? Any map requests? Any chance of getting sauced up bos in a game or two?

Teh earfquaik is my excuse.
Sounds like round 2 went smoother...?
I have my my UT set up with a private server crack, so I don't know if that made a difference or not (I dont have a real key btw). In any event, I couldnt believe the pings we were getting... You guys were all in the mid 30's!! Teh fibar worked excellently... I have no prob hosting next time either.
My input lag problem was fixed after I turned off a few things in the ut2004.ini. I found the fix on the unreal tourney support forums, and it works perfectly now. 0 lag.
Lemme know when y'all are gonna throw down again... Let's do it fo reel next time.
