Go the Strad! Alan sugar was a genius

Fuck yeah!
I was rocking a CPC 664 in Australia back in the day and it was da filth!
DId you know those puppys used 3 1/2 inch hard case disks while everyone else was still tooling around with 5 1/4 inch floppys. Way ahead of the game. Basic programming was great on them too. Fuk I had some good times on that machine. J3rk I am impressed with your knowledge of the golden age of computing. Don't forget the Spectrum ZX-80 tho!

Sweet Jesus you guys have got some in-jokes going on here though. Almost inpenetrable wall of crap you have set up here, with the whore flakes, the glo, the kirby references, WTF????? At least I'm down with the sigma team.

Love that joystick set up but. I thought about doing something similar when my love of Street Fighter got a bit out of control, never had the dedication. Do you paly old arcade rams with that puppy or what?

I've been collecting MAME ROMs since 1997 when the first releases of MAME came out. Currently McNevin and I maintain the collection which currently consists of 4841 ROMs. :D Everything from the black and white 70s games to pretty close to now. Also have all the good games for every decent console, and every old computer I could get my hands on materials for. If you can think of something, it should be in the archive.

And...

Post by R3C »

... the knowledge stems from early childhood :D I've been playing games since just over the age of 2. Bally Astrocade, 2600, Vic 20, C64, were the early ones. C64 is my absolute favorite even now. There's still an active demo-scene for it.

Gaming Mecca

Post by Roger Ramjet »

I think I have just found the holder of the key to gaming mecca.
If I ever make it to your neck of the woods then I would love to see and play some of your collection. I have very fond memories of Atari 2600 (River Raid, Pitfall II) and C64 gaming (International Karate +, how good was that!) Natsukashii ne!!!!!!!

I guess you are based in Enderville, around Seattle somewhere?

Don't know what you collection of SNES is like but try to find a game called unirally (Bitmap Bros I think). That game was like crack!

Yep...

Post by R3C »

... Enderland is correct. One of these days when the collection is just the way I want it, I'm going to burn some DVDs of it. Then they can be copied and sent about. I love International Karate! I haven't played that rally game, but I've played just about everything else from the Bitmap Brothers. Good stuff! Speedball 2, Gods, Chaos Engine. I've got all of the original Amiga versions...

Bitmap Bros do certainly rock da house. I have the complete collection of SNES roms so I am sure it is in there. I'll have to check it out when I do more than just play video games at Sparkle's and Goemon's.

Ramjetter - don't worry about the inside jokes (what you're not down with the HAW?). Most of the time I just pretend like I know what is going on. :shifty:

GAMEPLAY mofo's

Post by Roger Ramjet »

Aww mate unirally was soooo good. It is a unicycle racing game, 2D scrolling, with sonic-like loops and ramps, 'cept you pull of tricks to get a burst of acelleration and more speed. 2 player racing was all about skill, timing and track knowledge and it was just frantic action all the way. Brilliant game. I am talkin' bout GAMEPLAY, do you hear that today's game programmers GAME-FUKIN-PLAY.......motherfuckers!!!!!

OK...

Post by R3C »

... I've seen that game, but I don't think I have it at the moment. Only takes a quick trip to a ROM site though. I'll grab it and give it a whirl.
