Check out Windows Version 1

Post by McNevin »

This russian (I think) site has some pictures of a guy installing windows version 1. I found it very interesting, since windows 3.0 was the first version that I really ever used.

cripes... thats awesome. Being there was only one window in 1.0, I think "Microsoft Window" would have been a better name.

... :D :D The wonders of the Microsoft Boneyard server. I've run Windows 1, I got a copy of Microsoft Bob last year, I found all the old entertainment packs with the cool Tetris (with soft drop,) and Chip's Challenge. They have everything they ever made on that server. Windows 1 is basically like DosShell

So apparently Windows 1.0 was just a glorified filemanager/dosshell? I wonder if any software was actually written for it.
