Go for it - especially considering that with the purchase of a broadband adapter GC roms can be streamed off of your network and played on the GC. Not to damn shabby if you ask me. That will be one of my first purchases when I return to the land of no cats, whenever that may be.

I heard about streaming through the network adapter. That's an excellent idea. Too bad they don't make a 100 mbit version. I hear a few of the games don't work quite as well that way. (But I suppose those are the ones that could be bought.) This bundle comes out in a couple days. I'm going to pounce upon it. It's fall and I don't have any Mario or Zelda games to play that I haven't beat many times over. (Actually, I didn't beat Ocarina of Time, I almost did, then stopped playing.) I love () I can write a grammatically correct run-on sentence. :D

the GC rom scene is taking off... I see a new rom or two posted every day on the bittorrent forums.... Streaming roms sounds like a bit too much work tho...

It seems doable to me, seeing as the funny little gamecube doesn't have a hard drive (so it can fit in Japanese apartments I am guessing). Better to buy a cheap network adapter than an expensive hard drive add-on.

How about this - a firewire adapter that plugs into one of the myriad of expansion ports on the bottom and allows you to plug in a firewire hdd. Still an expensive option though.

Or they could just make mini dvds available.

How else could they do it? What is the average size of a GC Rom?

BTW Teamxecuter said in one of their latest nfos or something that they have been working on GC hacking. If anyone can do it right they can.

GameCube ROX

Hey J3RK, I hear they are going to drop it to $80 on the day after thanksgiving, if you can wait. You might see if you can back that fact up tho.

I got a gamecube for my birthday, as soon as the price dropped to $99. I actually bought a used one at game-stop (for $69.) I got it during their buy 2 used get one free deal, i got the cube, windwaker and then got Resident Evil Zero for free.

I was kind of dissapointed to hear about the zelda bonus disc bundle, right after i got my cube, but jennifer got me a subscription to nintendo power for x-mas, which includes the zelda disc as a promotion.. yay

So just to get this straight - the "Zelda Bundle" includes Zelda, Zelda 2, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask. It does not also include Wind Waker right?

Still a good deal for $100 and even better for $80.

Yeah...

No Windwaker. The bundles that come with the "bigger" games still cost more than the base system. I think they are doing this as incentive without extra cost. I've got all those games running fine in emulators, but playing them on TV wouldn't be a bad thing. I think I get mine next week, but not sure yet. Over.

Spent about 3 hours with Zelda on the new and improved NES emu for xbox. Its grrrrrr-eat! There are now perfect, state-savable, bevy of option tweakable emulators for NES, SNES, PCE, C64, MAME, Gen and GBA. There is also a PSX emu that works pretty well. It is a whole new world of emulation on the xbox compared to this time last year.

In a little under 3 hours of Zelda I got pretty damn far. Already onto my 2nd row of hearts. Maybe I'll go beat it now.

I'm about ready to start playing...

Post by R3C »

Ocarina of time from the beginning. I totally loved that game. When I originally played it, I got to the Shadow Temple. Then for some reason or other I stopped playing it for several months. When I went back to it, I was out of practice, forgot much of what was going on, etc. So I stopped playing it altogether. I'd like to go back through it. I think I'm actually going to wait and see if the price drops again. I know it's only a $19 difference, but since a GameCube is not an absolute necessity. I can wait a little bit. (Definitely getting one though.) I'm too much into writing music again to play games at the moment. With my limited time, I'd rather compose. I think my gameplaying season has shifted from fall to winter. Usually I like playing games more in the fall, but I've been quite musical lately. (Wrote my 181st track last night.) I've been experimenting a wee bit in the old-style acid stuff. I've always liked a good acid bassline.
