Tron: Legacy
Well R3cogn1zer - have you seen it and if so what did you think?
Liked it. Can get into specifics later, but it was enjoyable. I was worried when I found out Daft Punk were doing the soundtrack. (how much of it, I'm not sure, I'm kinda outa the loop at the moment with all my projects) I do know that they bought a huge Modcan modular synth possibly to do this work. The soundtrack was great. I was worried that all I'd hear is disco-pop-house
Anyway... Back soon...

I thought the Daft Punk sdtrk was great in the movie but it doesn't hold up as an album the way the Trent/Ross Social Network album does. Guud stuff. The movie was okay and very pretty but I was hoping for more.
I actually got a little more than I expected. If you look at the first one, while it's still in my top few to this day, (and watched by me pretty much monthly or so,) a lot of it was riding on the "wonder" for lack of a better term of what goes on inside a computer. The computer was still pretty mystical back then to most people. Sure it was well executed, but it was still just games playing, an escape plot, some action, and some loose religious metaphors. (to boil it down much further than I'd like being such a fan)
The new one has all that of course, but an additional impending war, imminent demise of humanity, and a bit more flair in the acting department. The acting in the first one suited the movie perfectly, and the time period, but the second one has more in the way of interesting characters and I thought it filled in their story fairly well.
All icing really as even at its most base level (audio-visual action,) it delivered well. It's really the first modern movie in a while that I've felt I'd like to own before it's available.
Side note: My wife loved it, but couldn't help being slightly off-put by the hair/eye makeup of Quorra... (won't elaborate on that)
