Anyone listen to Hot Chip?

Post by R3C »

I was just tipped off to them, and grabbed three albums. (I like Coming on Strong the best.) Good stuff. Kinda reminds me of Laid Back (Don't Ride the White Horse.) Maybe a touch of that other guy that samples and plays records. Can't remember the name, but he did that Telephone song. End3Rtr0n would know who I'm talking about.

I have listened to them a bit and like em but they never quite reached full rotation. Maybe I'll give em another spin.

Not sure which telephone song you are referring to unless it is this one.

Are you referring to RJD2 - "Making Days Longer"

"Strange how a phone-call can change your day... that's the telephone"

The older albums would probably not have made it into my rotation either (maybe a song or two from each.) Most of Coming on Strong is pretty damned funky though. Keep Falling, Down with Prince, and a few other ones... Tchaparian (or something like that,) is also good from one of the other discs.

Check out Pretty Lights for some nice free downloadable RJD2-ish trip hop tracks (and a damned pretty website).

Shall check these out after I'm done with my W7 reinstall this evening. My initial install fell prey to my tinkering. :) Haven't had that happen in a loooooooooong time. (well nothing that drastic) Good thing I only had two games installed, and one updated driver set. :)

Ahh, that would be a good idea. I think you'll see why I like them. If I had only heard the older albums, I may have kept a track or two, and tossed the rest.
