Teh Driv0r!

Post by Bill Drayton Jr. »

In October of 2006 I lost my license. Today July 1st I can drive again...I have mixed feelings about this and could not smile during my picture. It is amazing to me to have not driven for over 2.5 years...sad really...but no more. Just need to get a car.

88 on knowledge test, 92 on driver test.

Got marked down for touching the curb with my front tire during a parallel park - for some reason it is ok to touch the curb if you are parallel parking on a hill but not on the flat. Also the tester thought I hadn't stopped before the white line for a stop sign when I stopped and then creeped out past it in order to see the road I was turning onto. The last one was my fault, I didn't turn my head and look behind me when I got into a turn lane at an intersection even though the road split into a Y - instead I just looked in my mirror to see if there was anyone directly behind me in the only lane there was. Whatever - I passed so who cares

I really had my heart set on the Bugatti Veyron, but that car is a little too expensive and not as practical for hauling BMX bikes so...This would do nicely. It's A LOT cheaper too at 400,000 euros ($560k)

I have found performance discrepancies regarding torque and 0-60 times. A reputable tuner of 850s claims 236ft/lbs of torque and a 7.0 second 0-60 time. Will have to get a g-tech and see what this vehicles performance actually is.

appears to be rather rugged...the moon roof didn't fracture at all...might actually been able to live through that...

Yep...no more driving around in a ridiculously overpowered neck snapping noisy rusty tin can - I am all about safety, sensibility, reliability, and comfort...Yeah...somehow it seems amazing that I am driving an automatic front wheel drive four door station wagon...and I actually like it and am doing it by choice...never thought the day would come...

The ride is a little rough though as it has sport suspension which I actually wish it didn't have because it sits too low. It is designed to be driven in the snow and with it being so low it is going to have difficulty with snow drifts.

Unfortunately it has a mild oil leak though which is why I think the guy sold it so cheap. It is going to be a pain in the ass to fix though because the whole intake manifold needs to come off to get at the breather box and the turbo complicates things...

Possibly might do some really light mods while I am at it though...just to get the fuel economy up though and not to increase horsepower although that might be a side effect. The gas mileage is about 19mpg now but have been doing lots of city and traffic driving so freeway should be around 25mpg I am hoping.
