The component cables make a much larger difference than I thought on 480i. No flicker or bleeding to be seen. Well worth it I'd say. No I want to try Zelda in widescreen mode on my LCD.

Did you order it from Nintendo's site?

Yes, from the link I posted previously. Everywhere I've seen them listed (if they even have them,) they are at least $20 more.

You guys fight the skeletal dogs yet?

...You know, I mean, the ones they own. That are in their body. Under their fur.

I'm only 11 hours in still. I just got into the Gorons' mines.

Are they any good? :D

Excellent work Admiral! Now you have some catching up to do...

I'm about 20 hours in now, and SpidMonx is a little over half of that. I've slowed down a bit though, as I picked up a DS Lite and an M3 Lite Perfect. (which solves all the wacky issues we had with our older M3s)

Incidentally, I have my old CF M3 if you want it. It works, but it has that problem where the pins don't always make good contact. There are some ways to fix it listed here and there, so if you want it, it's available. I ordered Aug the MiniSD version because he kept bumping the cart, and it would lose contact. The MiniSD Pro version is only $30 without a passme device. (the only limitation of it is that it won't play GBA games that are over 32Mbit, which in most cases is quite ok)

Let me know if you want that cart.

Ohh I failed to mention I finished her up a few weeks back. 73 hours total. Quite a few of those were taking my time exploring. Early reports that you couldn't beat it in less than 60 are very untrue. I am sure you could do it under 30.

That's probably an averaged number based on exploration, learning curve, etc. I think I would probably actually take longer the second time trying to find everything I missed the first time. That's how my second run of Wind Waker is going. (BTW: I think WW is my favorite in the series, though TP is a VERY close second.)

Haven't finished it yet. It's been on temporary hold while I'm in music mode again. I'm exploring the lake area currently.

From HardOCP:

Wii Remote Used In Robbery

No, this isn’t a joke. Some guy, while trying to steal a Wii-remote, assaulted two guards with the Wii remote and got away. I can just see the lawsuit filed by the guards right now…I mean, Nintendo did name the thing “nunchukâ€.

In Nagoya, Japan, a man broke into the local Bic Camera (an electronics retailer) and tried to make off with a Wiimote. When stopped by the guards, he used his years of training as a repressed nerd to bludgeon them savagely with the controller.

Just picked up the Sonic game, and SSX Blur. Both are not bad. I've always liked the SSX approach. Fun rather than simulatory. The controls take a bit of getting used to, but once you do, they're pretty good. I've run into the odd accuracy issue when doing tilty maneuvers, but for the most part they're pretty solid. The music is context sensitive, and is no longer this years popular music groups, but all "instrumental" which I prefer. (no more playable Sam-Goody commercial syndrome)

The Sonic game is weird. As stated in the GS review, it's the closest thing to the original games that's come out, and kind of revives the series somewhat. I was not expecting much, but I've been in a console mood, so I picked it up anyway. The graphics are excellent, the game is fun, the controls are strange but usable, etc. Some of the music is cheesy in a good way, but in between levels and on the title screen we have rock-out-Sam-Goody-commercial-vocal-rock-music. Yuck! In a Sonic game?!?!?! I don't get it, because the rest of the game has your basic console platform type of thing going on. Anyway, it's a nice sit down and give your brain a rest sort of game. Perhaps it will hold me over until Mario Galaxies (whenever that is) on the platform side of things. It has TERRIBLE voice acting (once again, why does a Sonic platform game need this?!?!?) I just read that you can switch it to the Japanese voices though, so maybe that will help.

I've been playing Paper Mario a bit at a buddy's house. The gameplay is AWESOME! One of the most fun and innovative platformers ever. However the story is sooooo dumb and there is way too much of it. They need to cut all that shit out and just let you play!

Or let you skip it... I don't have the Wii one yet, but I have the GC and N64 ones, and they're far too texty too. From what I hear, they have a little more depth though. I'd like to pick up the Wii version. It looks fun.
