Choki: Torrent yourself a copy, and then get it cheap in a few more months at GoGamer. (for key purposes.)

I suppose tomorrow will have to be a Hamachi game then? (meaning everyone should go get Hamachi)

I just tuned Q4 nicely. Everyone should be running the 1.3 patch. (extra maps and such) I will probably want to eat when I get home, and then I'll be playish.

I've made more progress with my idRaven collection too. (Getting lots of nice source ports for older Q/D/H/W games.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! May have to make a Tuesday night game thing or something for a while. I have 4 fully D3/Q4 compliant computers in my studio now, so local people can play at my house too should they feel like it. Some of the new maps that come with the 1.3 patch are pretty nice. This should be fun. I've only played Q4 MP with 1 other person at a time before.

How's the new install coming along Admiral?

Choki, did you torrent yourself the game? If not, maybe you'd like to come over this evening, and play from the secondary computing device.

Only $19 for those who'd like a CD Key to bypass the Hamachi phase in the future.

That's no fun. Well then, you should at least click that link up there, and expend $19 on a copy of QIV. Then, get your ass to mars... ...get your ass to mars... ...get your ass to mars...

I'm on the Hamachi tip - but I have to go grocery shopping after work and then download the 1.3 patch. What are we thinking then? 9 o'clock?

I have been doin quite a bit of o'gamin for me. I played Pirates for a couple weeks but it got old fast. Now I am replaying Psychonauts on tehXbox because it is SUCH a fantastically designed game and I didn't want to continue my year old save. So much fun.

But I have yet to really test out this 7600GT - lets Q!

I might be able to squeeze in a little bit now. An old friend is over unexpectedly, so I don't have a ton-o-time tonight. Everything should be set though. I installed Hamachi, but haven't set it up yet. I'll do that now.

My Hamachi network is called J3RK-S3RV. Let me know if it prompts you for a password. I'll have my work phone by me. I'll PM it to you.

'twas fun. Shall have to do it again soon. Next time I don't get drinky first. :D It was fun, but I was teh suq... I'd like to do a bit-o-Doom3 MP too. I've never played it with enough people for it to be fun. I'm open to anything that we can play in a controlled environment. More monkeys would be good.

Very very good fun. RECAP:

Game 1 was mainly between me and J3RKs0r - tipsy versus tipsy was a quite even match - 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, then 4,5,6-3, then 6-4,5,6. Back and forth a bit more and then the others joined. Yet I emerged victorious.

Game 2 was a debacle of b333phorific proportions.

Game 3 was a fantastically evenly matched fragfest, everyone in the lead at one point and no one more than a frag or two apart until the furthest South of us pulled ahead(shot) at the end for the win.

Game 4 was a ruckus space battle that ended with a 34 kill differential between the nights big winner and my suck ass.

***

We should definitely do again soon. I would be interested in trying some mods.other type thing out too. Fragfest is full on fun, but I want to recreate those games we used to have in AvP2 when there were like 4 marines ona a team and one Alien and one Predator all duking it out. Is there an update to that game yet?

I say we start a weekly game session!

yes! grappling hooks would serve us well!! i hopped back on the server shortly after the space battle only to find a recreation of my favorite quake 2 map, the edge, but no monkeys were to be found. twas a fun night, i forgot how much of a difference playing with your close friends vs. playing with total strangers makes in terms of overall fun. and i'm glad i was able to pull a "that's bullshit!" out of ryland for old times sake.

Yes, I definitely have more fun when playing with friends. The other thing we should try is playing multiplayer using the Classic Doom mod for Doom 3. It's the whole first episode redone. It's totally accurate too.

Oh, and here: http://www.joinfear.com/us/ If you don't have the full version of F.E.A.R. go grab this. It's the whole MP portion of the game, it's compatible with the full one, and there are a bunch of new maps and such. I haven't played F.E.A.R. in MP mode with other players yet, but the levels all seemed like they would be fun.

I've got a F.E.A.R. server up right now, called J3RK-S3RV. It should just work with no Hamachi. Random people joined last night (when I thought I had set it up for LAN, so...) I'll attempt to contact our communications hub. (Admiral McNevin)
