Doing a little searching for who will be playing around Seattle while I am in town (and on the subject of air guitars) I came across this:
Supersonic Soul Pimps at the High Dive 8PM (New Year's Show)
W/ Below Average Productions
21+, $15
and mcnevin will have plenty chance to a.g. it up with all the old buds at this show:
Floater @ Showbox-all ages

BTW - if the 3SP isn't good enough for you NYE extravaganza, then you can always drive to Arlington where Sir Mix-A-Lot is playing.

This is who i know about so far. I doubt there will be a whole lot more, but there might be a couple. It's possible that another friend or two of ours may come, though I don't know for sure. I would estimate that it'd be pretty close to last year, but with a slightly different mixture.

I don't know if I'll be in on the extra largeZ0rZ bottle or not. I may just pick up a mid-range Roederer and call it good. If everyone was to bring one to two bottles, at this point we'll be well over 2002, which was my goal. The HUGEl0rZ bottle would be cool, but maybe unnecessary. I had a fairly large champagne headache last year when I left in the morning.

Regardless of what horrible music you end up playing, I expect drunken, unintelligible phone calls from all of you at midnight!

We'll be blasting 3SP all night to make up for missing their concert. I wouldn't miss out on our annual NYE champtraveganza for a frickin Guns N Roses reunion tour! (ahem, bos...)
I also invited Danz but it sounds like he might be going to whistlar instead. Teh Sarahs might want to come. I imagine thats about all. Jo2fro2 go home then?

Michael and Alison will probably be there, but later in the evening. We have a dinner thing down at Nijo around 6:00 or 7:00 and will probably be at Teh SpidMonX house around 8:00. I'm a little worried about that though, as I can't really go to Nijo without drinking about a litre ( ) or so of sake. Won't want to do that on NYE. May have to skip that, though excellent sushi would be a good precursor to champagne goodness.

Yes, but if the fishy should decide to try and escape, I can think of worse, more... ummm... flavorul things. I usually don't have a problem with that though. The only effects I usually get from drinking a lot are a nice headache in the morning from dehydration. I don't usually get sick to my stomach. It usually takes something fairly extreme like having a few martinis and then switching over and having a bottle of wine afterward or something crazy like that to cause that sort of thing.
As the Rixler can tell you, I'm pretty resilient where alcohol is concerned. He didn't believe that I could drink a whole bottle of hard alcohol, so we did an experiment. We got a bottle of Quintessential Gin, (90 proof) and a bottle of Vox Vodka (80 proof) which are former staples of mine, and we basically split them between us though I had a bit more of each. (there was about 2 inches of the Gin left in the morning, and no vodka left) I woke up fairly early, in a delightful mood, trapsing about the house, while Rixler moaned and whined on the couch most of the early part of the day whilst the sun streamed in the windows causing him excruciating pain.
I can pretty much drink a ton of anything (except beer) and feel good, as long as I don't mix different types of alcohol together. I'm quite coherent through all of that too. I think the only person that I know who is more resilient would be Agent Bos.
I tend to stick to a few glasses of a good bottle of wine these days though. It treats me better overall. I have this feeling that I should try to keep my liver from disolving for some reason.

There are always multiple factors, but in general I have always believed that the amount of hangover is mitigated by cheapness (low quality) of alcohol. No doubt a bottle of Lord Daresbury (haven't seen him in quite some time) would leave you feeling fresher than Walgreen's brand plastic bottle gin. I'm not too worried about Jan 1st. However, it would be a shame if you went the sake pre-party route. We should all start from square one at monX0r's.
I'm debating about whether or not to go down there at all. They overcharged us for a couple of "large ticket" bottles of sake a while back, so Michael made them give us a $50 certificate, which would pay for one person for the whole dinner thing (just happens to be $50 per person,) so that's why I was going to go down there before hand. I may just go there a different time, and use that to pay for half a bottle of sake instead. I like the idea of eating a nice dinner before the champagnery-pokery, but not drinking sake whilst eating fancy sushi and listening to good music would just be silly.

Is it still in the cards to get a larger than normal bottle of Clicquot? I may have procured a smaller than larger than normal (aka normal) bottle. I'll be getting a bottle or two of something or other else (maybe tier 3ish) soon too.
My choice is always The Palace. mmmmm. The brewery place we went for the celebration dinner would be a happenin place. Those seafood places in the harbor aren't too bad either.Billybobjobecky wrote:hey ender, where should the girls & i go for a nice NYE dinner in SB?
