Woo hoo! Page 4~

I have some GBA questions...

So... if you put the GBA game directly on the cart, w/o using the game manager, can you use the savestate feature?

"Enable Real Time" is for saving states, but what is "Save Patch" for?

Well, normally (like for DS games) the Game Manager does the "Save Patch" so that when the DS game goes to save, the data is redirected to the GBA slot (where the M3 resides.) You shouldn't have to do that for GBA games, because they save to that slot by default. There may be some special cases though (as not everyone uses the same methods for saving data.) The "IPS Patch" option is for using IPS data like cheats, text translations, etc. So if you find trainers in IPS format, you can link them in using that option. "Enable Real Time" is for saves, but I think it just exposes the real time clock for games that keep track of the time that you aren't playing the game. (virtual pet games, etc.) I could be a little off on the last one, but "Real Time Clock" is a big selling point for some of the linkers, so that's what I assume that is all about.

I would laugh, if the one from china beat yours here...

The item (RA079224325HK) departed Hong Kong for its destination on 8-Dec-2005.

That would put it here on tuesday, lets hope the other one gets here before then.

I know that FedEx and UPS are faster coming from Hong Kong than within the US. Crazy eh? I doubt the postal service is the same way. Any excuse to be slower! (is their motto)

I can't believe that. I sent it out Monday around noon. What a bunch of mother fucking bull shit Mr. Han-Man!!!! I paid for 2-3 day shipping. Bloody fUx0rZ!!! Thanks for fixing the forum again by the way. I was curious as to whether or not you got that thing. Time to do some inverse-postal, and go shoot up the post office.

It looks like we're going to want to grab Animal Crossing, if the game forums at HOCP are any indication. Looks like everyone loves it. Think I might grab it tonight, and give it a whirl when I get home.

Well I have had a chance to play through a handful of new (to me) GBA games this weekend. Lunar was a bit too sloww and boring for me. Final Fantasty Tactics Advance was quite strange and not what I was looking for. Super Ghouls and Ghosts is too much of an arcade game (which I knew) and too difficult (also knew) to keep my interest for long. SMB Advance 3: Yoshi's Island is really not too fun - which I guess is why I didn't ever play it on SNES. The real winner of batch was Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga which is a great little RPG lite that includes some innovative real time fighting action and all kinds of platformer navigation. Quite fun.

You guys too busy with your 2nd screns and stylii?

Oh fuck! Look what I found.

I agree with you about everything except Yoshi's Island. That is an incredibly cool game. I rate it very close to Super Mario World. It took me several tries (spaced over a couple years) to get into it, but it's very fun, very deep, and all the little control quirks fade after a while, and you forget about them. I highly recommend giving it another whirl sometime. I just started Mario and Luigi Partners in Time for the DS. Very similar to SSS. Quite fun indeed.

Im also going to have to agree with mr. jerk, I am loving the yoshi's island! Ender: Have you tried Motocross Maniacs Advance? Or what about Motoracer Advance?

I am also loving the fact that I now can play ridge racer DS, on the go... woot.

So my passkey from china came today, that would be the day after the one from seattle arrived in mail days...

Hook me up with your friend key for Mario Kart!

They already have put missile bases on the other side of the moon. I think we're going to have to come up with some kind of missile targeting system with which to destroy them on their descent. We'll call it "Missile Command" What I can't figure out, is how they managed to get themselves up there in the first place. One would think we would have spotted any technology they might use for this purpose. Blasted Sigma jerks!

McNevin: I just "reinstalled" Mario Kart along with all my other games. (I wanted to write them sequentially to the card, just in case it's possible to fragment the CF card.) So I don't have all my old saves. I have played MK online once since I did this, so I'll figure out what my code is when I get home from work today, and post it for you. I want MULE DS!!!! And Archon DS!!!! Damnit!!!! Those would be fun to play online.

I haven't yet tried GM2.4. There really haven't been too many games that I want to play lately. Besides, I just started Mario and Luigi, so it may be a bit before I need to manage games. I'll get you a MK friend code ASAP though. I played a little online tonight. Not sure what was going on, but I couldn't catch up to 2 out of 4 players no matter how much I turboed around the track. I didn't run into anything, didn't go off-road, turboed at every opportunity, and they still just flew off beyond my sight. I don't get it.

Nifty stuff here. Admiral, I think you'll be interested in one of their larger projects: http://scummvm.drunkencoders.com/

There are also things on there that will allow you to wifi rom files directly to your flash device, and other such stuff.

Admiral, you must get your Animal Crossing set up!! I have a friend code for you as well. When you load it onto the SD card, use Normal (no DMA transfer,) so it loads into RAM before playing. That seemed to work for me. Once you get situated in town (post intro etc.) save your game using the bed in your house. Then, get yourself a friend code. I got mine from the guards at the gate to my town. Once you have that, let me know. I've got some things you can have for your house. Also, Tom Nook (the shopkeeper) is upgrading his store today in my town, so you can come to my town after today (shop is closed for the upgrade,) and buy some more interesting items to bring back to your town. We can also go hang out in the bar. :D
