Play you up some Psychonauts this minute!
I've been playing this game all day. It's quite a lot of fun, and it's VVVVEEEERRRRYYYY Wacky!!
3nd3r, I think you'd like it a lot.

I think you'll like it a lot. It's a semi-similar platformer to the Kain/Reaver games (which I remember you liked,) only I think it's a lot better. It's kinda silly and platformy, but there is a lot of depth, variety, and really dark weirdness to it. (Really interesting soundtrack as well.) Anyway, I recommend it to everyone. It's like if Tim Burton were to make a platform game or something.
Play it now damnit!
I'm nearly finished with it. I've got about 22 hours into it right now. I was about to beat it, but I decided to go back to an earlier savegame and complete all the side-business, collect all the items, and expand my powers a bit. Still got a bit to do. (Probably another 4-5 hours.)
I don't think it's taken me anywhere near this long to beat any of the other games I've played recently. HL2 probably took around 15 hours, Doom 3 probably took around 10, and another 5 for the expansion. Finished Riddick pretty quickly. I'm putting Riddick and Psychonauts as the top PC action games of the last year or so, followed closely by D3 and HL2.

Hmmm... Id rather have a PS2 controller connected to my machine. The gamecube controller is not really my controller of choice.
Well.. too late for the PC version, already 50% done with the xbox ver. I usually prefer my platformers on the XBOX, and my FPSs on the PC, but I'll grab the PC version if it floats by.
Oh and Endar, ill bringeth a copy to L.A. for you.

Yeah, the PC one is definitely better, though I do agree that platform games are nice on a TV. I just can't stand knowing that I'm losing out on content and graphical features. LAME!!! That's why I often pull the large poofy chair up to the PC for gamepad use.
Anyway, you'll like it. Enjoy you up some of it. I'm going for the "Mario 120 Star" method, and getting everything in the game. I'm two objects away from getting everything there is. Then I can go on to beat it. I think I'm sitting at 24-25 hours now.

So, SpiderChoX0r was correct. The reason Psychonauts is so cool, is that it's by Tim Schafer (designer behind all of our favorite "Talkie" Lucas games.) Day of the Tentacle being the main one. Oh, and I think the only thing different on the PC version is better graphics. I thought I read that there were extra levels or something, but I don't think there are. (Maybe I was just thinking of Riddick or something, which has MANY additional PC levels.) The XBox version should deliver just fine for you guys, so you probably don't even need to bother grabbing the PC version. (I've got it anyway if you do end up wanting it.)

Now riddick on the other hand, that is a game that deserves to be played on the PC, not the XBOX. I need to do that still btw. As far as psychonauts goes, it looks beautiful on the xbox.
So psychonauts is down right awesome, if you havnt played you must immeadatly! Thats really cool about the Tim Schafer thing, the level design is very good. I Especially liked the cartoons on the TV, in the lodge.
It also has Richard Steven Horvitz as the voice of Raz, thats the voice of Invader Zim for those that dont know.
Oh and ender I have Forza for you too...

This weekend... I finally beat Psychonauts.
I went back and started replaying it from the beginning a few weeks back, took a little break for the move, and then finally finished it off. I did not, however, collect every single figment, tho I was close and got them all on a number of levels. Unfortunately, there is no go back and collect the rest feature after you beat it. This is really stupid as the levels all change a bit the 2nd time you enter them and they should let you run around and finish it off after the long "Point of no return" finish.

I got to the last part, and then lost all my saves. I'm just about ready to start playing again. Auggie has nearly beat it. He's on the last of the three inside-asylum levels (the painting one.) Nice work 3nd3r.
Admiral: That's funny, I never really paid attention to your Zim comment. I've been watching Zim a lot lately, and have been: "Wow, that sounds a lot like Raz." Then I started seeing that Squirrel Boy cartoon, and the Squirrely has the same voice. Well, I started poking around a bit, confirmed my suspicion, and then saw that you had already mentioned it before when I looked at this thread today.
I want all of the Zim episodes. If you feel ambitious, grab them for me. Otherwise, maybe I'll call you for your credentials for that cartoon site I used before.
