New versions of Real and Quicktime alternatives.

Post by McNevin »

QuickTime Alternative 1.30 RC4 Today - 2:30 PM
QuickTime Alternative will allow you to play QuickTime (.mov .qt) files. This way there is no need to install the offical QuickTime Player. As a bonus, Internet Explorer will play all QuickTime movies that are embedded in a webpage. You do need a player that is capable of handling QuickTime movies. The included Media Player Classic works very well with QuickTime.

Wow - 0day! Are you on there newsletter or something? :D

Which brings up an interesting topic. What do you guys think of auto-update notrification? Are we spoiled? I would never have enabled something like that on a program like real player a few years ago. But with software like NewsbinPro and FlashFXP (both of which I own) it is just so easy and reliable. Program starts up and right away I know if there is an update. Is there auto driver update notification yet? I haven't used a computer that let me update drivers in soooo long...

... haven't gotten them yet. I replaced my GI Joes PSAs with the mpeg versions, replaced almost all of the adult swim Real files with Divxs (I think there are only 10 or so that haven't been replaced with high-quality Divxs... Well, back to my monkey picked goodness.

I fucking hate Quicktime. It isn't quick. It doesn't work on time. It comes with all sorts of Apple-related pop-ups with fucking stupid interfaces (gosh, can Apple fail in that way?? - example: You get something telling you you need a certain component that it turns out you don't actually need. Then you get a 'Do it later' checkbox, a Cancel button, and a 'Fly to Another Website and Fuck About for 20 Minutes' button. Where is the 'Fuck That Now and Forever' checkbox? It actually turns out that the Cancel button and 'Do it later' checkbox have exactly the same functions.

And how cool is a 'brushed aluminium interface made using the motion blur filter' in 2004? Get something else FFS.

Real is pretty annoying too.
Oh shit
