Heres a cool little tip to speeding up firefox from
ipkonfig .
+ open a new tab and type "about:config"
+ whoa that is a lot of configuration optionss - filter for "network.http.pipelining" - you should get 2 results.
+ change the boolean value of the first result to "true"
+ change the second value ("network.http.pipelining.maxrequests") to how many requests you want as max. I set mine to 20.
+ right click and create a new integer. call it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set the value to 0.
close firefox completely and reopen it. this should make multiple page loadings a bit quicker. seems to be working all right for me.

my firefox has been very very unstable ever since I reinstalled all my warez and os on my new RMA harddrive...
stay under the 1yen curve!

usually just firefox and J.River Media Center. Sometimes MATLAB.

In general, how long does Firefox take to time out when you mistype a url? If I type in enderzerp.net Firefox goes into Not Responding mode for a full 90 seconds before finally timing out and returning control to me. McNevin suggested it might be due to this tweak but I set it back to default (even deleted the "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" key from the prefs.js file in Admin\App Data...) but the results are the same.

Oh, and I am using a similar tweak. I increased the pipelines, but didn't do a couple of the other things that I originally read about.
