NOOOO! Winamp DEAD!

Death Knell Sounds for Nullsoft, Winamp
By Nate Mook, BetaNews
November 10, 2004, 1:26 PM

The last members of the original Winamp team have said goodbye to AOL and the door has all but shut on the Nullsoft era, BetaNews has learned.

Only a few employees remain to prop up the once-ubiquitous digital audio player with minor updates, but no further improvements to Winamp are expected.

Well, seeing as how it's worked quite well for a long time, I don't see how updates would make it any better. Especially since people can write their own input/output plugins if they want. Someone will make a better player.

SlashDot wrote:"In a previous story, we heard that WinAmp was down for the count. Apparently, this is not the case. Here is a note by Eric Caoili that says "No we weren't axed. We haven't even seen anyone with an axe. There was this one guy who came up to us to axe us a question, but that's about it.""

p.s. - Ender - Could you bump up the font size for quotes one point?

Ahh.. good news! Thanks for finding that Sparkle...

I also second the notion of increasing the quote font size.

Does the fact that the last original member of the Winamp team left mean that they would stop updating the program?
