That was pretty surreal; I was watching live coverage from the NHK branch in Nigata (epicenter of the quakin') and the studio there started shaking with the also-big after tremors. About 30 seconds later, the 2nd wave rolled into Tokyo.

I wish we could always get that kind of quake preview alert (other than my dog running through the apartment whimpering and my knees aching).
