Energy drink...
I'm currently testing out some Carabao alternatives. (Because I bought the last stock at Uwaji, and they haven't replaced it yet.) I just drank a Bacchus-F Energy Drink. It has everything that Carabao has except caffeine, so I will find out if it's as effective. It's really funny looking. Blue and White label that say Bacchus-F
Then I got the standard squarish bottle Red-Ice, which is the non-carbonated Thai Red-Bull stuff.
The thing about the Bacchus, is that it's more tart, than the others, and less syruppy. It's actually quit yummy. Results to follow.

Do you like it because you think it's better, or because it has a shark on the bottle? (Both are quite valid in my view.) I think all of them taste VERY similar, and they all have the same ingredients give or take one or two. I've noticed no differences in the ones I had today, compared with Carabao, Shark, etc. All I know, is that I like them all better than Red-Bull, because they aren't carbonated. The only thing I really enjoy bubbles in is nice Champagne. (Otherwise, suX0rs to the BubbL0rs.)

Naaa, the packaging has nothing to do with it. I just know that when I was last in Thailand and buying little magic bottles of energy for 20 cents each it was the Shark that I deemed best. I don't remember Carabao specifically from that trip but have had it a number of times since. I like the shark better but at my little asian mart it sells for like $3.50 compared to Carabao's $1.89. They also only have the crappy orangeish thai iced tea in the small bottle. My least favorite thai iced tea around. Crappy little "Indo China Mart."

Although the Bacchus may taste the same as every other energy drink to most people, it was unfortunately the nearest thing at hand for me to try to wash the horrible taste of snake wine out of my mouth after the first encounter with that beverage. It only made the taste worse and now carries the association of dead-snake-in-bad-alcohol flavor with it.
Go Carabao!
Go Carabao!

The shark is pretty good, I think I like it just as much as the non-carbonated red-bull, which is my favorite!
MMMmmm... System Shock 2 playing fuel. Although I don’t think I could drink them anymore, since I haven’t had caffeine in over a month, and I might explode.
Maybe the Bacchus-F, no caffeine!

Just got SS1 running nicely in DOSBox .62. Took a little fiddling though.
McNevin: Get the new DOSBox and the frontend at the top of the news page called D-Fend. It's EXTREMELY nice. You can set up a detailed profile for each game, and it's very easy to set up.
The way I set it up, is install from CD to HDD. Then copy the "CDROM" folder from the CD to the Shock folder on the HDD. Then edit the cdshock.bat to load from that copied "CDROM" folder. Then edit cyb.cfg to reflect that folder as well. Then set up a nice profile in D-Fend for it. Use the "Normal" CPU setting, not the Dynamic (even though it should be faster, it is not.) Cycles should be around 16000-18000. Blizam! Oh, make sure you set the video mode in the profile to 320x200, or it will use 640 and scale 2x, which will make it a bit slower.

I just discovered a CASE of shark in our garage... when questioned, my roomate suggested that i help myself to it...
Shark! woo hoo! We shall see how mr cafeine affects the Dr. I have been slowly trying to re-introduce it back into the system, having about an ounce of mountain dew a day to try an get back on the sauce.
before the dew ration, i tried to drink a thai tea, and i was pissing every five minutes.

MMMMM.... I haven't had a good energy drink since I made this post. I'm all out of monkey picked tea too. I have no acceptable source of unnatural energy at the moment. I really need to drop by the ol' Uwaji-Mart and pick some of said items up. I've actually been enjoying the slow-me-downs more lately. Kava extract, courtesy of SpiderChoki, and Dextromethorphan, [the friendly opiate] courtesy of the Wyeth Consumer Healthcare corporation. It may be about time for the quickening again.
