Doom 3 Mods....

There is a link on the Gamespot main page that goes to a bunch of nifty Doom 3 mods. Tweaked weapons, laser addons, etc. There's also one that enables parallax mapping to enhance bumpmapped surfaces. That's the one I'm really keen on trying. Anything to increase the detail levels. wwwweeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

The parallax mapping mod gave me about a 30% performance hit, and made the floor look like it was software rendered (maybe it switched to point sampling or something.) Big blocky pixels. It did make distant bump-maps look quite a bit cooler when plasma shots were fired, but other than that it sucked. Don't bother with it. (At least it was a separate PK4 file. All I had to do was delete the file, and BLAM! back to normal.)

Is that the Mars City one? He did a pretty good job on the airlock door.
