Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2

Post by Bill Drayton Jr. »

Is the best first person shooter I have ever played so far. Play the single player. I have only done the first three missions and it is very very cool. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend - extremely cool and fun.

We're mad at it at our house, they took out the Co-op, which was the best part of the COD franchise.

Xbox 360 version. Split screen story was always really good in COD games. They cut it for this game.

Why does the 360 support 4 controllers if everything is going single-player?

They took out leaning, dedicated servers, made a 9 vs 9 player limit as well on the PC. There was a fairly sizable, though ultimately insignificant boycott going on because of these things. I really don't care about most of these anyway. I hear some people say it's pretty cool, but with only 5-6 hours of single player for $60, I'm not so sure. I want it, but will wait for a Steam sale.

I have played it a bit further now and it seems to be a tiny bit less exciting. When I first played it I wasn't expecting something so cool but for a FPS I haven't seen a better game yet.

I am now planning to pick it up. I do still want to wait for a sale though. So, as usual with this sort of game, I'll be the last to get it, when nobody wants to play it anymore. :D

I'm still up for a little L4D playing soon. This week during the evenings should work out for me. (post 9:00pm)

I thought L4D2 was out tonight at 9:00pm? Perhaps I'm wrong, but I just read that in the [H] forums.

It comes out tonight at 10pm. Gamestop is having a release party after they close with both AC2 and L4D2. My roommate and I are gonna go head down there and pick up the 360 versions of both.

Ok so we should kill those pesky zombies tomorrow...I can't wait to chop one in half with a chainsaw - cuz I have never done that before...maybe I can bash one in the head with some blunt thing too...

I don't like chainsaws. I don't watch movies involving chainsaws, and I don't use them when they're available in games either. In fact, if they are in a game, I practice harder, so I can kill the ones holding them more quickly...

...chainsaws, and straight-razors... Yuck...

I'm ok with swords, projectiles, large teeth, etc. :D

Speaking of film grain and chainsaws...Amazon sent me a book by mistake that I don't have any interest in called "Horror 101" which is a book about horror films. Do you want that as a "free gift if you act now" along with the DS?

This whole Infinity Ward fiasco gives me deja-vu! Basically it's the whole Guitar Hero thing all over again, but this time with Call of Duty. Let's recap what happened then: Harmonix leaves Activision and joins EA to make Rock Band, now then there are 2X as many music games floating around. The already oversaturated market is now even more saturated, and now nobody wants guitar/band anything.

So Infinity ward heads Zamprella and West, now known as Re-spawn Studios, leave Activision for EA, to presumably make yet another Modern War game, but EA already has how many Warfare franchises? Battlefield, Battlefield: Bad Company, Medal of Honor. Dice formally ran both Battlefield franchises, and Dreamworks Interactive was responsible for MoH. MoH has recently been rebooted, and the next installment, Medal of Honor:2010, will be developed by DICE as well. So how does Re-spawn Studios fit in, well hopefully not with a 3rd EA modern war title...

Nowhere! Which is why these people will eventually realize that greed, trying to be huge, and working with horrible publishers is a first class ticket to nowhere!

Ed, you sounded like dirty harry just then...

pfft...

Thanks Grace...

Did anyone else play Battlefield Bad Company? Am I the only console gamer on here?

It was a great game and probably the only video game I have finished in the last 2 years. I'm looking forward to Bad Company 2 but current Hacked Xbox restrictions mean I might be waiting a bit more.
