Dems deliver thumping to GOP

Post by ed9k »

It has been a while since there has been any political discourse on this board. What is everyone thinking about the message America sent this week? Can the other side of the tarnished coin really make a difference? I myself am feeling cautiously optimistic. I think the thing that is sticking with me most of all is that I hope this tells the rest of the world that America isn't full of a bunch of idiots--just some of us.

Yea that is a good sign. People are finally pissed off. It is heartening to see things heading in a good direction - but results in California show that it is more a race to the middle than a move to the left. I have been saying for a while that the polarization in the country is a bad thing. The Rove pander to the base strategy has been successful for the republicans, but it has caused a good deal of strife. We'll see if this "work together" rhetoric is just that in years to come. If nothing else it is a good sign to the rest of the world that us Americans may not be as dumb as we look.
