XBOX360 Right Around the Corner
Moderator: enderzero
Adrenium, or what's left of it, isn't doing anything cool at all (last time I checked, (which was about a year ago, which is why I still have my copy of Azurik.))) You'd think the console vs PC debate would be tired, but a new round just began. It's ridiculous. Any of the forums I normally visit are just overflowing with this crap right now. I play nearly everything on the PC these days, with the bulk of my non-PC playing going to the DS/GBA, followed by the Gamecube (which purely fills my "modern Nintendo" needs.) The only console games that I tend to buy these days are first party Nintendo games. Mario franchises, Zelda franchises, etc. Consoles are excellent for platform games, driving games, fighting games, *gasp* sports games *yuck* and console-style RPGs. Everything else is better done on the PC I think. The place where C vs PC comes into play is when the console company ports PC games that should have never been ported. Control methods, dumbed down graphics, etc. are VERY good reasons to leave PC games on the PC. Why even bother porting games like that at all? Just focus on what consoles are good at.

Well guys i will be AFF (Away from Forum) for the next few days. I am speding my thanksgiving vacation as i normally do, playing video games. I will be enjoying some linked DS action, as well as some xbox 360 fun.
My friends matt and kherri have perfect dark, and PGR3, so im sure ill have fun with those!
However this year will be fair in comparison to my recent thanksgivings! This will be the first thanksgiving in six years that i have not cooked the traditional bird! Well, im looking forward to next year, resuming the tradition, back in seattle!
Happy thanksgiving everyone!

I pretty much agree exactly with your view on C v. PC - which is why it is a tired arguement. The funny thing is that with my heavily mod'd xbox, it is almost more like a PC (granted an old PC) in that I have to worry about disk space and other concerns. There are def two kind of gamers - one thinks Golden Eye and Halo are the best games ever... and one thinks they are the best first person games except for every first person game on a PC.
Have teh fun McNevin. Thanks for the call tonight - that was cool. I am anxious to hear your 1st hand report on teh 360. Perfect Dark is supposed to be the flagship launch title. I don't even know what kind of game it is. I am anxious to try my hand at PG3 vs Ridge Racer tho. Hurry back with a full report Admiral.

So I had a terrific thanksgiving. I and my friends got to use a youth center for 2 days, it was quite the place. We had the Xbox 360 on an 8 foot projection screen.
We played PGR3, Kamino and NFS: MW. I was pretty impressed with the multitasking of the 360, you can return to the dash at any time, and then go back to the game. You can download demos of games in Xbox live; leave voicemail for friends, chat, and its cool.
We cooked a multi course dinner, with all the trimmings. Minus the turkey of course, I made a ham this year.
The highlight of the event was by far Mario Cart DS! We played it wi-fi for hours! The download feature works rather well, allowing me to play the first 8 tracks, without actually owning the game. A slimmed down version was transferred wirelessly to my DS. I can’t wait for my M3 so I can play the full version, it rocks!

What shipping method did you choose? They actually didn't cancel my MK3 order, (which I ordered standard global mail,) and it still isn't here yet. (shipped about a week ago) I ordered my M3 2nd day international UPS, and it got here in 2 days (over a weekend even.) So if you ordered it mail, then maybe it is on its way.

Fucking thing won't play Azurik. Not buying a 360 now. There is an official compatibility list for it. You HAVE to have Live to play XBox games on the 360 as well. It downloads a patch (which is a software emulator) for each game you want to play. What a bunch of bloody shite! Oh well, one less thing to spend my money on. I'll happily wait for the Revolution to come out.
