Get this and pull the original games off of an abandonware site. There are also texture packs for it, but I almost prefer the original textures.
Check this biznizz out! Damnit!

I have managed to obtain legitimate copies (Most of my software is now, imagine that,) of every Hexen,Heretic,Doom,Wolfenstein,Quake game with all official expansions. I've gotten all of the coolest OpenGL rebuilt engines, texture packs, and replacement models. An example of one of the engine remakes is Tenebrae for Quake 1. It adds per pixel lighting and large texture/poly support. And pixel shaders too. It basically makes Quake look like Doom 3. So I've collected everything of the sort. I'm going to compile all of these games in ISO and/or installable SEA archives (where applicable,) into a two DVD set. I'm just waiting on a couple of texture packs and one OpenGL port to make the first edition. Later editions will include more complete retextures etc. I'll mail it to the true Monkey Lair personel when it is ready. This means all of these games can be played on NT platforms in normal and enhanced modes. I'll have all the latest patches as well. I'm thinking of adding a "Favorite Mods" disc, but I'm not sure yet. It would included Urban Terror, Action Quake, and things like that, but we'll see.
Actually...
I don't think it would take up 3, because there aren't that many mods for the quakes that I consider favorites. If I do a mods disc, I will do it later as an addon. It's actually quite cool to have 80-90% of my software legal. I have a license for everything. I even have multiple copies of some things, just because they were free or whatever. I've been snatching up games from half.com and amazon affiliates for on average, around $8. Fun stuff.
