no sense

Post by enderzero »

I just noticed that with our current thread naming scheme it is just about impossible to go back and find something you are looking for, without opening many a topic (a real pain a slow ass cellular modem).

Not that I care...just thought I would point that out.

But this forum seems to be chuggin along quite well. At least the monkey lair if not the rest of it. What do you guys think?

One thing for sure is that phpBB kicks ass. I have been using a UltimateBB board ey'day for the last long while and phpBB is far superior (except for a few small features I would like).

Now if I could dial into it directly from a local line via a 14400 or less modem, it would be absolutely lovely. Okay, maybe not, but I am thinking of putting up a real BBS!! 56K Renegade Board I think. Yeah, I know how much of a pain Renegade is to use, but if I'm going to do it old style, I have to do it right. I'm thinking of putting old DOS games on it, having door games like Tradewars and Lemonade Stand. It will be limited access too. Let's see those interschwank folks try and figure that one out!!!!!! HEEE HEEEEEE HEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Oops, I started sounding like Mr. Hall there. EEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeee EEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeee EEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeee SEEEEEEeeeeeee DEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeee GEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeee.........

I knew you were going to say that...

But umm, no. The whole point would be lost at that point. Abandonware BBS, not online where people can muck it up, close it down, etc. etc. And old style.

You are insane - a fucking modem? Maybe I would use that if I could fucking telnet into some system where I had access to a lame ass fucking modem pool whereby enabling my 768k DSL ass to dial up into your renegade ass fucking "BBS."

Yeah.
