The Official GBA/DS Thread. [was Damn Right!!!!]

I don't think I've seen an official Zelda game that didn't feel like a Zelda game. (except once again The Adventures of Link) Phantom Hourglass was superb. Windwaker style with mildly simplified mechanics (shorter boat rides, etc.) that translate well to a handheld for reasons of on-the-go-osity. I have now played them all, though I haven't beaten them all. (I've beaten Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and have nearly beaten Phantom Hourglass.) I really need to get further into Majora's Mask too. It's a good game. I'm artificially afraid of the time limits involved though. (Maybe I'll use some action replay codes to stop the flow of time. )

It's totally a Zelda game, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. If you enjoyed windwaker, this is remarkably close, but with many cool improvements. There are classic weapons, but some new ones as well, that utilize the DS input. For example, you draw your boomerang's path with the stylus. Think of the puzzles you can do with that. I read somewhere that the puzzles in spirit train are some of the most challenging of all the franchise.
Very similar to Phantom Hourglass. (boomerang thing) Plus there was a shovel for digging up treasure (in addition to the usual chopping, pulling, and tossing of things.) You have a steamboat in PH, that you can buy different parts for (both true upgrades, and visual upgrades.) You can also find parts for it in treasure chests at the bottom of the sea, (using the salvage arm.) You can go online to buy, sell, and trade parts with other players as well to get the ones you want. Pretty F'in cool. I assume ST is like this as well.
I would do Zelda PH and Dawn of Sorrow. (action game is good to break up the Zeldanizing a little bit) You may also want to have Tetris DS in there somewhere too. 565 lines is the number to beat. I can get around that number every few plays or so. Then sometimes I can only get 120. I have an odd attention span fluctuation with Tetris.
