Izakaya sushi and yakitori

Post by Bill Drayton Jr. »

This place has been open for two weeks in the new Renton Landing shopping center area. It is right by the new theaters. It is a conveyor belt sushi place like Marineopolis or Blue C sushi but there are two notable differences: 1) it has a bar, and 2) it's actually good.

Marineopolis is cheap low grade sushi for a low price, Blue C isn't much better but it is pricey. This place is cheaper than Blue C but what I had was amazingly good for the price. I actually was able to get a seared tuna sashimi of some kind over that weird watery white radishery noodly thing complete with that strange tasting green leaf that I think is meant more for a garnish than anything else but I always seem to eat it anyway.

So, why am I mentioning it since there are probably only two of us that eat in the Renton area? Well because until June 1st everything is 50% off during lunch so you can get plates from $0.75-$2.25 and it actually tastes good. Oh yeah and there is yakitori and I think they actually have Absinthe there if you want to combine sushi and absinthe which would be disgusting if you ask me but you could go there and talk about doing it and then realize how disgusting it is and get sake instead.

Ok so I went back tonight for the second time and it was crap this time. I don't know what the deal was when I went there the first time but I was highly impressed but tonight it sucked. I had trouble with the service as well, not as bad as teh j3rk, but they had trouble knowing what seared tuna was and also asked me if I knew how to use chopsticks and if I knew what wasabi is for.

Seriously though the first time was amazing - this time everything was lower quality. I am depressed.
