Azabu Juban Summer Festival is this weekend, Friday Aug. 22nd thru Sunday Aug. 24th. One of the most popular summer festivals with fairly packed streets and a good selection of food. The international food bazaar at the Ichinohashi intersection has booths set up by most of the local embassies (featuring their local cuisines). Good eats on for cheap. I'll be heading on Sunday if you're interested.
Asakusa Samba Parade is the following weekend, Saturday Aug. 30th. If you've never been, it's a surreal experience seeing the carnival dancing in the middle of one of Tokyo's oldest districts. Good visuals abound:
Yes, unfortunately, she is the Chairwoman of the Itty Bitty Titty Committee, but don't deny her the sheer pleasure she exudes in exhibiting her mosquite bites.
Yeah, she does look like a fun-lovin' girl though. She'd probably enjoy it if you put your face up against her brown belly and went "Ah-Ffwwwwwupthhhhhhhhh!". I'd like to have a go at that.
