Nice!! [Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin - NDS]

Post by R3C »

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin

Gamespot has some information on the upcoming DS exclusive so get those whips ready and let’s go vampire hunting.

Currently scheduled for release toward the end of this year, Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin is the second game in Konami's long-running Castlevania series to be developed exclusively for the Nintendo DS. We first got our hands on the game shortly before the Electronic Entertainment Expo in May, and although we gleaned plenty of information on that occasion, we were left with a number of questions unanswered.

Oh, DS emulated, not emulators for DS. I see. I hate emulation of portable devices unless they are on other portable devices. The screen scaling always looks bad.

I think it's about time to buy my DS. I gave my original one to Aug, and then I lost interest for a little while. Now it's time to go pick up a Charcoal DS Lite.

Very nice. My Lite soaked up a small amount of cream-soda. It works fine, and I've just about solved the sticky R and L buttons, but my battery doesn't last as long, and is looking a bit lumpy in some areas, (like maybe it shorted a bit at the time of contact.) I plan to order a replacement battery. Aug lost his charger too, so I think I'll be placing a good accessory order. My mum also want to play all the brain games, so I think we'll be getting her a DS, an M3 Lite, etc. for Xmas. She wants to get a Wii for my dad too, so I believe it will be quite the Nintendo xMas this year. Too bad about the CVania, but no big deal. If anyone wants a perfect copy of the original Rondo CD plus a nicely configured emu to run it, just let me know as usual. Symphony and the Arias are top-notch, and apart from Symphony's terrible voice acting I can't fault any of them. However, there is something about the PCECD Rondo that is quite compelling, and for me makes it the best one to date. There are so many plot branches, hidden secret areas, complete maps that one will never see unless they do some serious exploring, etc. and all on the TG16/PCE, that make it the tip-top from the 80s and well into the future I'd say. The control, and tiny details make it the incredible one. This part of this post probably should have gone in the other thread but oh well. Pirate ship level FTMFWY!!! (don't believe I've ever seen that iteration of FTW. :D ) Nice DS admiral. I think I'd pick that one up if I was looking now. The exact tones with Blue and Black would be quite cool too. Still recommending the M3 Lite as we discussed the other day. It has many colors of shell, so the black would probably match best on yours. There are some VERY cool DS Slot cards, but that limits you GBA as we also discussed. They're getting cheaper, they don't need Flashme for any reason, and I have a nice OCZ card for you if you do pick one up. Anyway... That's my DS and CVania babbling for the evening. Weeeeee!!! (oh, I lied, Phantom Hourglass is one of the best Zelda games I've played, very Windwaker and then some, also the latest in tricky DS games, and it works perfectly on the M3 Lite (for future reference.)) I haven't put it down since I started, and it even cut into my BioShock time, so that should say something. I think I'm on track for a perfect collection and Zelda play-through, and I've only consulted a FAQ once for something that I would have had to have the manual to know otherwise. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! Even if you have to emulate it. (I can't decide if I like it or Windwaker better in fact, (and I like them both better than Ocarina, and Twi-Cess.) End of line...
