The New Unified Forum

Post by enderzero »

All right - it has been done.

You may notice some changes right off the bat. First of all, everything looks different. I have installed a new default theme for the forum (Aeolus). If anyone likes the old one better you can switch it back on a per-user basis. Just go to "Profile" at the top and scroll down to "Board Style." The old theme is called Helius. Also if anyone finds a phpBB theme on the internet they would like me to install then just let me know.

The Emoticons have also been re-done. This took an amazing amount of work and had I known that when I started I might not have bothered. But anyway, now you can see cooler ones without hitting "View more Emoticons." Also, there is a full listing of all emoticons and code along with other larger emoticons at http://enderzero.net/smilies

Obviously I am totally kidding about no wackiness or tomfoolery. What fun is a forum if Tom isn't being fooled. But I would like to try to keep bickering and spamming to a minimum of course.

The main reason I unified the forums is that there seem to be a couple groups of people that hang out here without crossing over too much. The conversation isn't that far apart and I know everyone and think most of you have a lot in common. But with the previous structure a monkey might have been less inclined to post in a zoner's thread and vice versa. Hopefully this will eliminate that.

I know this is just a peasily little forum with a handfull of my friends on it. But I really enjoy having it none the less. If anyone has any ideas as how to improve or attract more people than please use this space to let me know.

Thanks to everyone for kickin it in the Lair.

PEACE

How about spamming everybody whose email address you can get your hands on inviting them to add 3 inches to their penis? Then when they all click on the link in droves and come flocking here for their new, big swinging dick and find this forum with the wooo wooo and everything, they just won't be able to leave.

You know, I actually did email just about everyone in my address book :D You didn't get one because you are one of the few people that were excluded because you are already clued in. Didn't think of the penis enlargement scam though.

Maybe if I promised Nigerian riches...

Whatever happened to the X-10 camera? It used to be you couldn't go anywhere on the net without be swamped with ads for that thing. Did they fold because they realized people don't order things they see as pop ups?

yeah.. I think the problem was that I was buying so many X-10 cameras, that the company was unable to keep up with the demand and had to shut down...
a classic case of overly effective internet marketing.

Unfortunately...

... you can still get an X10 cam. And I see pop-ups usually linked off of hardware and emulator sites and things like that. They still rotate images between the suggestions of home security and online porn. Putrid things. If I wanted a camera, I wouldn't get one of those, even if they were the best on the market. (Purely because of their ads.) :eviltongue:
