McNevin, install one of these coolers and see if that can't solve your overheating issue.

I'm thinking of installing this setup in my arcade cab so I can get really good framerates with Crusin' World and Ocarina of Time.

The N64 version of Ocarina? That ran full speed on my old GeForce 3 on an Athlon XP 1800+ in 1024x768. :D I didn't read that article, but I think that a 5 GHz system is probably overkill. You can also use the OpenGL renderer in MAME to get quicker speeds on some of the more taxing games.

The only N64 emulator I've ever used was Ultra blah blah blah, whatever it was called. That was back in 99' on the first day it was released on the net and I was running on dual voodoo 2's. Ocarina of time was the crazy chopster of choppiness.

You'll have no such problems now. Use Project64 1.5-SP1, and the newest renderers listed in their forums. You'll get very nice speed, and very nice compatibility. There are other N64 emulators that are coming close to PJ64 in terms of compat and speed, but they'll be a little while. I'm hoping they'll eventually surpass PJ64 though.

Come to think of it, I do recall the admiral playing the game relentlessly on whatever emulator he was using at the time and the graphics were in fact seemless. Perhaps I'll update my N64 emulator and save the power cooler for my next project, The MULEcade XS 8900 w/ built in wine refrigerator.
