For those of us who play Tetris...

Post by R3C »

Like the Admiral and such.

Tetris Worlds for the GBA is frAXing nice!!! I like the piece-juggling you can do when the piece lands. Best frAXing Tetris this side of the original Gameboy version. I hit 220 lines in 22 minutes last night. Admiral? What can you get? You're the classic back-seat Tetris player, so I'm curious what your top score is. I have a cold, and I was a bit cough-syruped out, but I think it actually helped for some reason. (Perhaps it aided in blocking out distractions.) :D

I think 120 is my current original gameboy tetris high score. I will be all over tetris worlds when i get a linker. But the original works rather nice. It even colors it.

150 is my old score on standard GB from the days of yor... Now I can get around 138ish. I've been playing Tetris Worlds a lot though, so perhaps I could get higher on the GB version now too.

Umm... That's entirely impossible. MAME doesn't write to the registry. I'm thinking perhaps you had some memory issues, which corrupted it, and it just happened when you ran MAME. MAME stores all of its setting in .INI files. (Or possibly .CFG, I don't remember which format at the moment.) You need new memory. You need two matching 512MB DDR400 modules. Your system would be a lot happier. Plus, I never got a chance to go through the BIOS thoroughly because you weren't having any of my help that day. I had a lot of plans for setup to get everything working right. I do think you need better RAM though. That stuff was just leftovers from another upgrade. It wasn't bad, but it's not tip-top. I forsee this problem happening again. I wouldn't worry about MAME though.

I have 2 matching 512MB DDR400 modules. They are sitting right next to my computer still in the package BECAUSE STUPID OUTPOST.COM STILL HASN'T SHIPPED THE MB/CPU COMBO I ORDERED OVER 30 DAYS AGO!!! Yeah it was a good deal (3.0E + Some crappy 800MHz MB for $190). Such a good deal in fact that we are just gonna call it "backordered" until the parts actually come down in price enough for us to make money... in January. DAMNIT!

That Tetris Worlds is a sporty little item.
But still, I wouldn't mind playing a little Money Puzzle Exchanger.
...
Quick kill, that's the name of the game!
