Spent the last three days on Hat Island. Stayed in an extremely nice house belonging to aunt and uncle inlaws. Went crabbing, ate fresh seafood all weekend, clams, shrimp the size of small lobsters, and lots of crab. Caught 7 of the jerks myself. They had a lovely high-end Yamaha ATV as well, so I was able to explore the entire island. Now I want to buy a house up there. I could even boat-pool to work with my uncle inlaw because he also works in redmond. It was right up there with Second Beach, though I like the actual ocean a little better than the sound. (Can't boat as easily on the ocean though.) We were right across the water from Everett, Camano, and a couple reservations, so we had several giant pyrotechnics displays going on throughout the night. Had 2/3 bottle of extremely nice tequila too :D Damn right, over....!

Sounds nice. How does one get to Hat island?

You take a magical rainbow elevator made of sparkling candy.
Other than that, there's always the autogyro....

Small passenger only ferry. Or boat. No bridges. They have a nice boat, which they use to commute to Everett, then drive down 405 to the east side. It really doesn't take that long by boat. The ferry takes about 45 minutes though. If people come up for monkey trips, we could go out there. They love having people over. They also mentioned that if we wanted to bring some friends up, that they'd take off for a couple days or something.

You can take the rainbow-candi-lator, but the lines to get on it are insane.

Sounds very cool...

I missed out on any such pyrotechnics display...Never heard a single firework and the only fire I saw where from the fire dancers while I was at the Phoenix Festival - they were ok...

It was pretty cool. The entire horizon was filled with both professional and class c from dusk until around 2:00 in the morning. (Though the pro-shows got over around 11:00 or so.) Their house sits on top of a big cliff, with a giant yard and deck that looks out over the sound.

Take a look at that email I sent you when you get a chance. I want to make those edits to the source code that I spoke of.

SpiderMonxor - did you get to see the display from your abode? I am sure the view was pretty fantastic.

It was rather nice. Close enough that all the car alarms on Eastlake were constantly going off...
