We've written off Teh RiXler for D0NK3Y coding. In fact, it sounds like when we have a spot of time, Seth is actually interested in helping. The thing with Seth, is that he's got a queue of about 300 projects. It may take a while to get to D0NK3Y, but with Seth it WILL actually happen. Seth helps my projects in the order in which they were received. :D I've got 3 projects ahead of D0NK3Y, two of which are in varying stages of completion. So between those, and his own projects, we will get to D0NK3Y sometime in the next few months I'd imagine. I've been thinking a lot more about it lately though, and have started thinking of the areas that should be enhanced, and the areas that should be left simple, just so we can get the project moving.

Well I woke up this morning and it was all done! It's, well two separate apps actually, ready to go although I have an extra three days so I will change one last thing and then I really can't think of anything else to do to it.

Yeah, I've written myself off on working on l)onk3y as well...I think it'd be fun but I'm still ye ancient old recoverying burnt out l)runken bastard... :wasted: and while I know I would definitely be able to start l)onk3y off it would probably never get finished cuz I'd get burnt out...Maybe could do one weekend a month on it or something though...

Well, the plan now is to replicate MULE. Then perhaps add some net code, then perhaps upgrade the play mechanics to add a bit more complexity. To start though, we just need it to act like the orignal. I really doubt this would be all that difficult to do. (Especially when we can "disassemble" the C64 version, to see how the game-logic works. I think just making MULE for Windows will be the easy part, and not take too much time and effort.

The netcode part, may in fact be fairly simple as well. Many emulators use this thing called Kaillera to sync multiple emulators over the net for multiplayer. I think this would be more than sufficient for our needs, as MULE isn't exactly as demanding as things like Super NES games and stuff like that. I don't know how easy it is to integrate into your own code, but I assume that it works like any other ready-made thing like SDL or that sort of thing. A lot of people use it, so it must not be terribly difficult to work with.

As far as making improvements to the rest of the game, I think we just need to plan the game for future upgrades. Say we want an extra slot or two in the Store/Pub area for future expansion. Well, we just add those into the graphics, and not have them active until we actually get to that. That way the game could still be played, we wouldn't have to rearchitect the art assets (wow, I've been to too many meetings at MS lately I guess with a phrase like that,) etc. If things keep going like this, I'm going to be prioritizing primary action items in no time. Just ping me when... AARGH!!!! :grind: :D

Yeah, having spare cycles is pretty important...

Well, let's just sync up later this week, and make sure we're on the same page.

(now that one is really funny, because syncing up kind of implies being on the same page) :D

Just make sure you keep your primary objectives in order.
