... shrink your window down to about a third of the screen. It actually works better if you grab the scroll bar and slide it up and down....
OK... so I've figured out that the screen scrolls at different speeds and smoothnesses depending on what it's sized to. If you experiment a bit, it will scroll smoothly and won't skip lines causing choppiness. You should get a nice wave effect if the screen is sized properly, and the scrollbar is used.
