My Ex-wife's Corrado...

Post by Bill Drayton Jr. »

I always thought the underhood temperature for the Volkswagen VR6 engine was way too hot - and that they used waaaay too many plastic parts. I don't know why I never put two and two together in regards to how bad that would be if there were some random wear and tear type of mechanical failure with that engine - until now...w00t! GO VOLKSWAGEN!

Wow! Did she ever add oil to it? :D

There is very little (if any) plastic on my Mercedes except in the little things like water reservoir, fuse box, etc. Even the air-box is metal, which isn't all that common. (at least on the German cars I've had)

Volkswagen does tend to overdo it on the plastic parts. I do like their new models though. (probably even more plastic though) Pretty soon they'll start using plastic gears in the transmission. :D

A friend of mine gave me a 190E for free about a year ago. Not the fastest thing in the world, but it handles nice, it's semi-comfortable, has a nice stereo, and looks decent. (except that the badges are in gold on black paint :D ) Not a bad auto for free. I sold the 924S shortly after.
