Wow, almost nobody over there even knows what the first few cards are. I had to explain that they were for DOS. Most of the people on those boards started out with a TNT at the earliest. Crazy little kids. I bet none of them have ever even seen a C64. Hmmmmm... No sir, I don't like it...

McNevin: You should go over there, and post your list... It's in the video card forum on HardOCP.
We should start a "My first PC processor" thread too. Mine would be a 4.77MHz 8088 with 8MHz turbo. Remember Turbo?
Like anyone would actually run their computers without it on. Oh, this application is getting a little slow, better hit the turbo switch!!
Where is the actual turbine on a PC anyway?

The video card has always been my favorite thing to get. I've been excited over a few audio cards, like:
Sound Blaster 1.0
Gravis Ultrasound (1MB)
Ensoniq Soundscape (not to be confused with the AudioPCI series.)
Soundblaster AWE 32
M-Audio Delta 1010
Soundblaster Audigy 2
Lynx Studio Anything...
Hmmm.... Maybe I should list all the soundcards I've had. Might end up being as long as the video card list.

Of course the JATON! that was the card i had in the 166
The Jaton video 60-p, the old continuious 98 rebooter.
Why doesn't the display driver work in Windows 98?
There is a hardware bug when this card is used with Windows 98. It function normally in Windows 95.
The problem only exist in 8260B/V6 PCB with Video BIOS Version 1.33 and CL-GD5446BV-HC-B Chip.
The resister "R9" must be removed with a desoldering tool. It is located at upper right hand corner of the board, and is the second from right in a row of ten similar shaped surface mount components.
What did I trade that to seth for?

You had the (I think Best Data) Oak Technology 512K card that we bought at Software Etc. That may have been a Plantronics EGA card, but I'm not entirely sure.
Yes, it was a Jaton Cirrus Logic VLB card.
Yes, you had the ZX with 8MB.
You may have had my 1MB Oak card too for a short time during the 386 SX40 time period.

The first best data i ever had was the 14.4 modem. I cant remember the brand of the video card, but i have the manual somewhere. I do think it was oak.

It was definitely oak and 512K. The brand is somewhat fuzzy but I'm thinking Best Data since we bought it at Software Etc.
Oh, and...

If I remember correctly
I had a Cirrus Logic 5426 VLB and it kept going black and white, i think that jerkface at pal systems gave me alot of greif, but finally traded me for a CARDEXPERT Tseng Labs ET4000/W32P VLB

Yeah, Dave. Big dumb jerk. Fucky Bus Head! He was always cool to me when I went there before that. I never went there again after that happened. The W32P was about as fast a PCI 2D card that there ever was. Nice chip.
