I just got the latest WinUAE. It is so nice. I've got some profiles set up that emulate the A500 near perfectly. I haven't run anything yet that didn't look right. You can now sync to 100Hz and have PAL doubled, so it no longer jerks around during the 10Hz difference between PAL and NTSC. I've gotten all the games to work, and most demos. (Haven't tried any that didn't so far.) Good stuff. I played the full first world of Leander last night.
Weeeeeee!!!!!! I'm going to get some Shadow of the Beast III going tonight!
I guess the AGA emulation is pretty nice now too, so I need to collect some A1200 games.

SkidMarks AGA was kind of buggy in the first place, but I bet I can get it running. I'll try it when I get home. If you want the emu, go to:

Excellent.
Tee Hee Hee I was just thinking of this Blade Runner quote, and twisted it to my will:
More Amiga than Amiga, that's our motto.

Well, we nearly got SkidMarks AGA to work. It was technically working, but we had to swap floppies so many times (It's about 8 disks,) that we gave up after the 15th swap or so. Insert Track Disk 1. Insert Game Disk 4. Insert Track Disk 1. Insert Track Disk 2. Insert Car Disk 2. Insert Car Disk 1. Insert Track Disk 2. Insert Game Disk 2. Etc. Etc. Etc. I've seen an HD version floating around, so I'm going to grab it, and install it to my Workbench HDD. (Which is really just a folder mounted as an HDD, with Workbench on it.) I'll let you know how the HD version works. I need to make a profile for Amiga 1000. Some of my old games like Archon and Archon II are giving Guru Meditations. I know I've played them on this emu, I just don't remember the settings. (Lost them during an XP reinstall.)

Just did a quick search earlier today. It returned a few results, so I know it's around. Haven't tried to get it yet. I'd rather do that from home, so I don't have to transport it. I really need to get a USB flash-drive thingy. Even just a 128MB one would be good for such things.

Newsgroups have tons of disk images in both misc and Amiga. Also, you can do a web search for "Amiga games adf download"
Factor 5's web site has some of their old games available as .adf files too.
Back to the Roots is a good website too.
I should send you my configuration files, but right off the top of my head here's what you'll want to set for an A500 in PAL mode:
68000 with "More compatible" (checked)
Emulation speed should be "Fastest possible maintaining chipset speeds"
512K of Chip Memory
1MB of Fast Memory
Display should be 800x600 with scanlines, X and Y centering 100Hz (for PAL)
You want a "Full ECS" chipset with "Full sprite collision"
Sound should be set to 100% cycle exact.
You'll need to find the Kickstart ROM images. You'll want 1.3 and 3.1. Use 1.3 for A500 stuff. Do a search for "Amiga Kickstart ROM download" add "kick.rom" to the search if necessary.
If you're in a game, and you need to swap disks, hit "End+F1" for a dialog to swap disks. Your Windows keys are the Amiga keys. I can send stuff to you if you need when I'm home.
