Are Chappelle's Show, Simpsons, Mad TV and South Park-not in that order necessarily.

Dave Chappelle makes me laugh so hard I piss off the wife!

Simpsons have only gotten better over time

South Park is just hilarious. They don't hold anything back-like Chappelle they are not afraid to tell the truth and both of those shows just kill me.

We have a cat named Stuart-after Michael Mcdonald's character. Mo Collins is so great-it's best when she almost cracks up.....

Things said in recent memory that have killed me:

"I beat my S*** like it owes me money!"
"That's my Robert, always peeing on people"
"Baretta did that S***"
"BRLFQ spells Mom and Dad"
"HHHHHWHATT? YYYYEAAHH!!!!"

With the exception of movies, I really don't watch much else than the stuff above........

Good call man. Chappelle's show is definitely the funniest thing around right now... but who isn't saying that?

The "I know black people" sketch form a couple weeks back was side splittingly funny." It's social satire at its best. I find it interesting that the main group of people that are watching this show are educated, white, middle class Americans in their 20s-30s. This shit is funny to us because we understand it. We have grown up in this evolving society where racism is such a naughty thing. But everyone just pretends it doesn't exist. It is all around us on a day to day basis. Chappelle's show is just blasting it wide open and talking about it (in a hilarious way). But does making a joke work for the better? He is certainly making people think about these issues. But at the same time is he desensitizing them? Good or bad?

I saw the South Park episode the other day where the town is divided over the Iraqi war (100th episode that aired last spring). In 20 minutes of crude animation, they were able to break down the entire dichotomy of what it is to be an American in this age. Why America as a country is hypocritical by nature and why that is okay. It was elequent and quite poignant. I was pretty impressed.

I would add The Daily Show to the list. Here is another satirical comedy that is brilliantly dealing with our issues. I have never watched MadTV (well maybe the first couple seasons). Is it riding this same wave that seems to be pretty popular today? It is great. Look at people like Michael Moore and Bill Mahrer. Both very funny men, both very politically minded, both with huge voices in America right now.

It seems to me that it is a fun and incredibly interesting time to be into news and politics in America right now. I am looking forward to being closer to the action.

No doubt. Political comentary mixed in heavily with chapelle and south park. The only thing is that I think people who get it, get it (preaching to the choir type of thing). I get the feeling, either it goes over peoples heads, or people with an opposing political predisposition dismiss the political commentary...
I suppose chapelle's show made me realize that racism is still alive and well to a higher degree than what I imagined in the back of my mind..... but It's not like I came 180 degrees from thinking racism didnt exist before. Not sure where it falls, but I can't really picture someone watching south park or chapelle, and realizing something important, or changing their views on things. I suppose the best I could hope for is an impact at a subconscious level... merely being exposed to all that kind of stuff is a good thing in and of itself.
