I done built me my first werkin arcade control panel
With the advent of the xbox mod chip, people can install and run all the ol' coin-op classics like galaga, smash TV, and street fighter II on their xbox, in the privacy of their own homes. The only problem is that of having to play with the stank ass gamepad. Just not the same. Growing up as a kid, I must have invested close to a $$Grand$$ in street fighter II and Killer Instinct, among other classics. Finally, the day came (three weeks ago), when somebody ported the Ultra64 Arcade version (the real deal) of Killer Instinct to the xbox. Within three days I built that control panel. And to finally have the original Killer Instinct in MY ROOM means more to me than school, work, and/or having a social life.

I need to get...
... on mine. I miss having one. My new one is going to be white with red buttons, one / two player start buttons and a separate button for coin. It's going to have an arcade trackball in the center too. I actually have all the parts, but as several people on here will tell you, I am too lazy to build it.
You're more right than you know...
I cut the top piece and used that as a stencil for the bottom and side pieces. So a straight edge and a square is actually about all I really used. I was in a hurry to get to Killer Instinct! All I wanted was functionality. Had I actually cared what the box looked like, I would've made a CAD layout like I did for the buttons and joysticks, and then trace the markings for some dyam good cuts. I was thinking about investing a little more time into making this thing actually look good with nice flush cuts, smooth routed out edges, and a nice granite finish...but all I was really thinking about was 35-hit ultra combos and fatalities.
