Capcom to PC Fans: No Super Street Fighter 4 For You!
2:03 PM - OhmWrecker - 37 Comments
Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono revealed in a recent interview that PC fans of the Street Fighter series should be prepared for disappointment, as Super Street Fighter 4 will not be making it's way to computers this time around. The reason? Piracy of course!
The PC version of the original was actually a strong seller worldwide, said Ono. However, it was also "number one in piracy."
Ono actually managed to look on the bright side of the piracy issue, saying that at least the game saw wider spread because of it. However, for the sake of protecting the Street Fighter IV IP, they cannot make it so that Street Fighter is considered "free" in certain areas.
While the article linked is simply a translation, it's pretty clear that the PC version being a so called strong seller doesn't mean much to Capcom at this point. Mr. Ono also stated that Capcom would be unwilling to support a Steam release regardless only because it wouldn't be fair to those that aren't able to purchase through Steam.

Yeah screw Capcom becuase I think you gonna find, when all this crap with Street Fighter is over - you gonna find yourself one smilin monkey...Thing is r3c, right now you got interest, but painful as it may be interest don't last...and your days are just about over. Now thats a hard muthafrackin fact of life but thats a fact of life your gonna have to get realistic about. See the video game business is full of unrealistic muthafrackors, muthafrackors who thought their games were going to age like wine...
Anyways for the fifth, its ass goes down...you gotta fight through that shit.
