Teh Powar of N!

Post by enderzero »

So it appears my plan has worked! With only a few months left on my dandy 3 year warranty, my Linksys WRT54GX4 big time kicked the bucket (like would boot up and then just turn off).

So back it went! And they just notified me that in its place I'll be receiving a WRT160N v3!

So I'll now be finally stepping into the wonderful world of N wireless. Anyone rockin the N? Anyone rockin the WRT160N? v3 is supposed to have support for DD-WRT which I have been running on my little Buffalo backup router. I probably won't bother buying an N card for my notebook but I surely will for my upcoming HTPC.

I am indeed rockin' that very device. It has worked out quite well for me. I hardly ever have to touch it. I occasionally have to open the odd port or somesuch, but nothing as far as reliability issues. I've had to power cycle it once or twice when something has gone on on the cable end of things, but the Link-Blast has never been the cause.

I've had mine for a little over a year now I think, so we'll see.
