It was pretty fun although I still prefer the original!

I played a 12 turn game and developed no energy plots, one food plot on the river and the rest were all smithore. At turn 11 converted one smithore plot to a crystite assayed at medium deposits but only got two blocks of production. When I went to auction the crystite it was only worth $50 while smithore never dropped below $54. Some of the smithore plots on barren land were producing 7 units. The highest I saw crystite for was $128 a unit at the beginning of the game and the store never had any units. The AI players were horrible doing dumb things like building nothing but energy and food. I won every auction except for one that I didn't have money for. It was very easy to always outbid the AI players and the most I payed for a plot was $680. Later in the game the price of land was dropping and the AI players didn't even bid allowing me to get the last bit of land for $480. There was so much energy that there was no point in me ever developing a plant so I just kept buying it. The only thing the AI did very well was hunt the wampus and it must have known right where it was because it went right to a plot where it appeared. At the end I had a score of 32,000 something with the second place AI player at 16,000...

It's nice that there are filler AI players, but I don't think we'll be needing them. :D

Actually having one dumb AI player that produces energy is nice so you don't have to waste a plot on that.

When should we play?

Oh and R3 I forgot to have you show me the contraption when I was last over! When can a see the OSX contraption???

I've disassembled all OSX contraptions. I still have the EFI-X chip, but don't currently have anything to put it in (again.) I can't currently justify having one around. I've come to the conclusion that it was a novelty. I've really started toning things down to what I actually need. My one expensive hobby will be my new modular synthesizer. I can't keep up with all of them anymore, so that's the one I chose to put most of my hobby time and money into. Computers and games are down the list a bit now. Still play them, and still have a nice computer, but I got a "normal" (upper mainstream) graphics card for the first time in 15 years, and ditched my upper-end "enthusiast" cards. (still running i7 and 12GB of RAM though. :D )

As far as the when should we play question, I'd like to play ASAP, though I'll probably be too busy this evening. Perhaps the classic Wednesday game night tomorrow?

Excellent M.U.L.E.(ing) last night! Damn fine game of M.U.L.E. The map and the auctions didn't feel quite the same as the C64 for some reason, but it was still fun. Crystite wasn't useful for winning the game, but it gave me some cash when I needed it. I think it's a decent supplement rather than commodity in this version. I was surprised by how much energy sold for too, and how much my plots used. I think if they tweak it just a bit, it could be perfect. I may have to start hanging our in their forums.

Yeah I would say all things considered it was very very successful... And fun! Needs some tweaking but yea for us to all get together at the right time and get our game on!

When's next?

I could play again soon. Perhaps weekend, or early next week.

How about colluding on some of this M.U.L.Ery I've been hearing about this wednesday evening?

Works for me! Wee Haw!

Oh, and hurray for collusion! However, we didn't do any colluding on the last game. Not sure if it's in there or not. Unless there is a special collusion hot key.

There is an update as of last Friday. Version 1.2. It tweaks a few things. They ditched the desert plots, which is probably good. That may have been affecting mining to a degree (at least, that's my theory.)

Sorry about lack of being around but I might be able to be around at some point this week for collusion.

Did you see that these Planet MULE chaps are sanctioned by the offspring of Dan Bunten?

Indeed I did. Good stuff. We must get a game going soon.

Yes, we must!

So there is no colluding in Planet Mule. They thought It would be unfair or hard to make fair, without changing the dynamic of the game.

That's okay, cause we didn't even know it existed for 15 years, so I can live without it!

I can live without it too, but I will happily use the term for my own amusement. Plus when we can all get together to play, we can still use the C64 version, and we'll call it "Extreme-Collusion-MULE-Tournament!"

Still haven't tossed it on the Netbook yet, but that will be the key to me being able to play more often. I'll be able to play whilst doing other things.

Yes, have some!

During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!
