You need it anyway to play, you can always re-d/l a game if you have to, it hardly takes any time over modern connections, it keeps track of everything for you, you don't need to have a disc in the drive, or run any cracks, etc. etc. etc. I have around 20 games in Steam now, (not including extra MP modes that show separately,) and love it.
I also have it installed on every computer in the house, so I can play any of the games from any of them without having to bring a disc, crack, or any number of other multi-machine inconveniences.
We were at gamestop already pre-ordering Guitar Hero III, and they told me I would have the beta key in 48 hours. That was over a week ago. I called them back on Monday, and the Manager Informed me they were all gone. So next time ill use steam.
Perhaps I'm chalked up for a bit, then ET:QW, then Portal at midnight. I'm also playing Phantom Hourglass on the DS right now (incredible fun, very similar to Windwaker.) I'll squeeze in an hour on a non-monkey server though.
I seem to have been sucked into the Phantom Hourglass. When I looked at the clock again it was a few minutes ago (11:5X) We'll have to try again. My Steam ID is drj3rk
I was prepared to show up, but what can I say...? The Phantom Hourglass!!! It possesses powers beyond those which you can comprehend. The powers to suck the mind into the tiny realm of portable, digital bliss. A realm which I like to call the DS Phantom Hourglass Realm.
Anyway, now Portal is doing the same thing. At least it's in Steam though, so I can be reached as far as I know. (Haven't used the friend thingy yet myself other than adding 3nd3r.)
I should be quite available around 10:00 or so again, maybe even a little earlier.
Ping me when you get some spare cycles, or are finished prioritizing your primary action items. We'll crystallize something for this evening.
I'm usually playing something around that time. Someone contact me if something gets going, and I'll happily switch over. I have to say though, I'm not all that impressed with TF2. It's not bad, but I've been having much more fun with QW. Still, I'll happily play TF2 if we get some monkey-buildup.
McNevin messaged me right as I was loading up Portal. The plan was to play for a few minutes, then find him, but when I got out of the game, I couldn't contact him for some reason. I think what's happening is that I have Steam on four computers that are always on. I went downstairs, and noticed that there was a message from you 3nd3r. I never saw it on the computer I was actually playing on.
