Neither I, nor my dogs own a 360... I don't think I could bring myself to play such a wonderful game on a console though. I've dodged most of the trailers, previews, etc. just so I'm completely surprised when the game is released. :D I never had any doubts about its quality, and judging by the play styles of the System Shock series, I couldn't have any of the story compromised. I've taken a look at a couple of screenshots, a couple of tech demos, and read a couple of things from Ken about the game, but that's it. 'twill be fun as can be.

I've been pretty damned busy myself. Good to read a couple of words from you.

Now...

FIVE!!! FIVE days!!! Ahahahahahaha!!!

McNevin: You shocked yet?

Me and Enderzero are working on getting shocked. Should be within the next 24 hours.

Splendid! I'm a few sections in now, and things are getting extremely fun. The plasmids are incredibly fun, you can upgrade your weapons, and you can use combinations of weapons and plasmids. This is also one of the few games I've played that doesn't really allow one to stockpile ammunition. I've actually had to scrape by through some situations with a couple of rounds in my pistol, a shot or two in the shotgun, etc. It gets crazy, and you have to get really creative to escape. Fun shall be had by you!

Cant wait!

Never played splinter cell? Alot of ammo conservation going on there...

I wanted to play and like Splinter Cell, but for some reason it didn't grab me right away, and some other game I liked better probably came along and made me forget all about it. :D

I played it for the first few levels on Xbox and really liked it a lot - but couldn't beat like the 3rd or 4th level and with 8 million other games never went back to it. Think I started the 2nd one but wasn't as quickly grabbed.

McNevin - you ever play GRAW? I was never into R6 at all and thus never jumped into that.

MSN me today McN re: ou Bio-plans.

Ohhh!!! Bio-plans!!! :D I, we, and possibly everyone who's ever played SS2 in co-op mode is asking Irra... 2K Games to make a co-op patch. Hopefully that will happen, and we can all play a good game-o-it.

So not a long and thought out critique by any means but I am having a good deal of fun playing this great game. Just worked my way through Neptune's Bounty and into Arcadia. Looks like a huge level!! I love the whole plasmid system with slots, etc. and choices on harvesting versus rescuing. Great additions. Level design is fantastic and bots are creepy. I got serious chills a couple times when I turned around and found a bot holding a knife at my face. So far a big bug thumbs up from me.

Plasmids remind anyone a bit of Azurik?

Azurik! I still have my copy. Nothing to play it on, but I'm holding out for an emulator, or a 360 impulse buy at some point. It couldn't be totally impulse though, because I won't buy it if Azurik isn't supported. Jerks!

So, yes, I'm winding my way through Arcadia now as well. I've been doing the "find everything, explore everywhere" method the first time through, and then will play some leisurely rounds after that.

Save us Azurik!!

The Xbox Backward Compatibility List still does not and will likely never include the game the community forgot. Have you ever met anyone who actually played Azurik? Why is it that it was so universally hated (other than the blue skin) yet we all loved it?? It is one of the few original Xbox games I kept (along with JSRF and the recalled(?) Kakuto Chojin).

OOh I am caught up with you? Yeah I am definitely doing the find everything approach - which is pretty possible in this game - although there is no % meter for items. But how cool is the whole u-build it addition? And finally more tonic slots! I just want to reiterate how much I love the ability to make decisions about things like buying plasmids that actually change the way you play the game.

I emailed the backward compatibility guys and said I'd buy an X360 or two if they added Azurik support. I mean really, how hard would it be. They probably wouldn't have to do anything. I imagine since it was such an early title that everything was done by the book, using standard dev tools. Why don't they just add in pseudo-support by adding the games they don't want to officially support as unsupported titles that you run at your own risk? Ridiculous. All they have to do is add the title ID so it will recognize it I would assume. There might be a bit more to it than that, but I doubt it.

I haven't had as much time to play Bioshock as I would like. Then I bought a new synthesizer, so I've been in music mode for most of any "free-time" TM I've had. Then I made it through about half of Arcadia, and for whatever reason hadn't saved, exited, and told it I didn't want to because I assumed I had already. So I lost most of that. I played back through it last night, and actually found a lot more hidden places, items, and a few tonics. I'm now trying to [spoilbox]Create the Lazarus somethingrather to save the trees...[/spoilbox] Have you been saving the wee-uns or killing them? I've been [spoilbox]saving them because I like the added "gifts" that they leave you more than just extra Adam...[/spoilbox]

Agreed on the last part. Seems the best course of action. Maybe replay the second time doing the opposite.

I too am at arcadia, and I'm loving this game!

[spoilbox]I harvested a few sisters for the higher adam, then i tried saving them, if i continue to get a bonus 200 adam, ill never harvest again![/spoilbox]

That's what spidmonx and I were thinking as well. I think it evens out, and the option is just to fit your own playing style. I usually tend to be a good guy for some reason in games, even though the bad are sometimes more intriguing.

:D That's excellent! Look Mr. Bubbles!

I can't believe some of the comments on there. Some people are ridiculous.

I'm in the next section now. The [spoilbox]Farmer's Market[/spoilbox] area was quite fun. There is a nifty [spoilbox]trap in the bottom of the winery[/spoilbox] in that section. I explored it beyond what I needed to [spoilbox]collect all the distilled water[/spoilbox] The next section looks really cool. I just got in trouble for vandalism. I smashed open a store-front window to steal a couple of medkits, and [spoilbox]alarms went off, and a voice came on saying vandalism would not be tolerated. All Vandies (I think was the word they used) :D should blah blah blah...[/spoilbox] I was quite immersed last night, and had to pry myself away from it, quite unwillingly, because I had to get up early today. Judging by the bathysphere buttons, I'm only about half-way through the game, which is very nice. Every other game I've played lately hasn't yielded this much play in total (let alone half-way through.) It's nice to see a game that is long(ish) and doesn't deteriorate into nothing by the mid-section. WEEEEEEEE!!!

I don't think I have too much further to go now. Things are getting quite interesting now. I won't even be spoilbox posting what's going on now. Very fun though! Weeeeeeee!!!!

Think I'll have to beat it before all my Biobuddies get back from BioEurope.

Next I'm going to play it again with all the shiny things and quest arrows, and other helpful things off. Looking back, those things were not available on the System Shock games, and I think I like that better.

WeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaaawwwwww!!!! Beat it!!!!

Nice mo-frixing-game!

Now, as soon as all this autumn gaming madness dies down a bit, other games get tested and beaten, I'm going back through it a few more times. Bloody Marvelous!

I'm still hoping someone makes a co-op mod for it. (hopefully even official) The mechanics wouldn't work quite as well as they did in SS2, but I still think it would be fun.
