From HardOCP:

P2P is Robbing Corn Farmers!?

According to a recent statement made in an FCC hearing by NBC Universal, bad movies and high prices have no blame whatsoever on folks not going to the movies, P2P networks are at fault. They also wanted to point out how slumping sales are affecting corn farmers because popcorn purchases are at an all time low. I swear. I couldn’t make this up if I tried.

Their idea is that if more people went to the theaters to watch movies then more people would therefore buy popcorn and put more money in the pockets of farmers who could then "...earn greater profits and buy more farm equipment."

Corn prices are low because the government subsidizes corn production in such a way that, the more corn a farmer grows, the greater the subsidy they receive. So farmers grow more and more corn which drives the price down so that they have to grow more corn etc...

Of course, this could be easily solved by coming up with a P2P method of distributing popcorn, (Provided that the popcorn came with a licensing agreement and a certain amount of popcorn rights management.)

As for Isohunt and torrentspy... yeah great way to keep their ad revenue up - filter out the only results anyone would want. Why would anyone go to "ISO HUNT" if they weren't looking for... hmmm... pirated ISOs???

In related news, Isohunt.com has changed its name to isohide.com. This is only because uselesssearch.com was already taken.

They just need to buy an off-shore platform, and they're all set.
