The dreaded lost city of Renton... (actually it's in a decent area, and close to the freeway) We weren't really looking much there, more around Issaquah, Redmond, Carnation, West Seattle, etc. but the house was too cool to pass up. It has over 2500 square feet of space, three floors, tons of rooms, it's a 1929 house with updated windows, hardwood floors (on the main floor,) detatched garage that's been converted into a big room, etc. My studio is the size of the living room in our current place.
It's about 5-6 blocks from Fry's, and it's about a two miles (if that) from Coulon park, and the boat launch. It just so happens I also have partially acquired (though it's in my possesion,) a Yamaha 850 two seat jetski type device. That boat launch will come in handy this year.
Anyway, pay no attention to the current decor and room layout. Eeeekkkk!!
What does closing mean? Does that mean you are 100% guaranteed that you get the house?
Yes. We already have our loan, we've had the house appraised and inspected, reached an agreement with the sellers for what they need to fix, and our terms, their counter offer, our agreement, etc. All we have to do now is sign the final papers and get the keys. That's happening between Monday and Wednesday of next week.
With closing costs it's around $299k. What we got out of the deal, was them fixing several things, and giving us a large chunk of cash back to fix other things as we see fit. I can't remember what the exact values are, but the house has steadily raised in value over the last few years. (by large amounts)
Yes, if I liked to "pump iron" this would be the test of all my training.
BTW Teh Rixler: Go into that other thread "Buy this..." or whatever, and check out those trax0rZ. You may like them. I know what you've been listening to lately, and I don't approve.
Yeah deadlifting was actually useful in the real world when I had to move all my stuff by myself. I would actually offer to help but I have another trip to Pasco coming up! Ah Pasco...
I actually did listen to some of the tracks and they sounded pretty good.
I think we're pretty well covered on the move. I just don't feel like doing it is all. I'll be there this weekend getting the electrical up to my requirements, fixing this and that, and then I think we're going to paint a few of the rooms before we move everything over. Also need to add bars to the basement windows. Can't have people climbing through them and taking my equipment. So the studio is huge. (bigger than I remembered) It's kind of a smaller room inside a larger room. I'm going to put my desk, computers, and musical items inside the small section. The large section will be the lounge. With more games, comfortable seating, etc.
Yeah...moving pretty much totally sucks I think. But it'll be cool when it's all done and you won't have to be worrying about moving for quite a while.
yeah, it also used to disorganize rylands dvd rack and build wind tunnels out of his computer tower...and, occasionally, it would eat his leftover gourmet pizza
Excellent. Excellent indeed! I have a studio/lounge, there is space for everything, etc. etc. Still a spot of painting to do and lots of boxes to unpack, but it's quite nice. You shall have to come over at some point.
