Pretty Big Storm at Mammoth

Post by enderzero »

I finally made it to Mammoth last night around 1 AM. I left Seattle the previous day at 7PM! Yipes... whut a drive... Lots and lots of snow from Reno to Mammoth and I had to take a 120 mile detour because of an avalanche.

Mammoth is reporting 95 inches in 36 hours... Holy Crap!! But I rode today and it wasn't all the bottomless steeps I had hoped for. It was incredibly windy and most of the mtn was closed. Anything exposed was crazy windswept with huge piles but there were definitely some goods to be had in the trees. Hopefully the wind will die down for some steeps tomorrow.
