The SD version of M3 should be out soon. Supposedly tomorrow. Anyway, when you get your device, you have to get Elektro Plankton. It's wacky and fun. What games do you have currently? You'll also want Super Princess Peach. Which is a lot like Yoshi's Island, only with Peach. Quite cool. So, I may end up picking up a Super Card. (Also keeping the M3 and MK3 when it arrives) Here's the deal. I'm thinking about installing Flashme (hacked DS firmware) which if I'm not mistaken, will allow commercial games to run without needing a pass key/passme device. The Super Card works perfectly with DS games, and fits completely inside the DS. I hear that there are currently some slowdowns on some GBA games though, which would be the only reason I could see not to get it. I'm going to try for a completely stock DS (on the outside) so I don't have all these extra devices hanging off of it all the time. I doesn't fit in the metal case I bought for it with the M3 in it. The M3 is still the best all around solution, but if I can leave a cartridge in the DS and not have to take it out all the time, I will be happy. They have CF and SD versions of Super Card. I'm going to do a bit of looking around, and see if I can find out if they've fixed the slowdowns in a new firmware.
Well, it looks like despite the smaller size, we don't really want the Super Card. (at least not yet) I'm going to keep my eye on it. I'm going to install the Flashme firmware when I get home tonight. You'll want to do the same. You can do it over WiFi since you don't have a flash device yet. It's quite cool and useful. It will allow us to run DS games without a Passkey, and it also protects your firmware. I guess someone wrote some "bricker" code (turns your DS into a brick) and some people have been attaching it to games, emus, etc. Which will essentially destroy your DS. I think it's pretty much in hand now, but it's still a good idea to install Flashme. It's basically a hacked version of the DS firmware. It write protects the main portion of the firmware, and allows recovery if anything happens to it. You hold down a button combination, and you can load it back in if you have damaged your firmware either by "bricker" code, or otherwise. Nice safety measure anyway. There is only one other way to recover a bricked DS, which involves a bit of soldering. (which is no problem for the likes of we, but installing Flashme will prevent that from being necessary in the first place) I'll let you know how the procedure goes.
