What would you do?

Of course. Some cheap blasting with pretty and weird graphics never hurt anyone. (except maybe some skeletal dogs)

I think I'm buying Quake 4 and F.E.A.R. the day they both come out.

Serious Sam 2 actually looks really awesome, I cant wait till its done D/L'in.

As far as Q4, I think that I will go with the Try before Buy program first. If its that good, then I will buy it.

Wait... I thought we were playing Serious Sam 2 a few years ago? Am I crazy or something?

No, that was Serious Sam 1: The Second Encounter. It was originally supposed to include 3 or 4 areas (Egypt, South America, and a couple others, (maybe Gothic or something like that.)) They ran out of time and funds, so they shipped the first episode (Egypt) and only charge $20 for the game. Then they released South America as "The Second Encounter" Serious Sam 2 is a totally new game. I don't know why they didn't release the other maps they had been working on as "Third Encounter" (would have made them some cash while they were working on SS2.

So... Serious Sam 2 is awesome. It is gorgeous looking. I think what really bothered me about the first one, was its horrible enemy design. I hated the main enemy, the headless ball and chain guy. Well so far he is MIA from this installment, and the enemy design is excellent.

I definitely recommend checking it out.

Oh, don't forget to pick up F.E.A.R. as well. It's getting 9+ reviews everywhere, and sounds incredibly cool. I played the demo for a few minutes, and thought it was pretty cool. It looks like it's a lot more polished now. You'll need to buy Quake IV because I plan to be playing a lot of MP. I don't want any of that stupid Key-Hassle TM that we usually get. I'm making sure everyone up here has a copy. Picking up a few on Wednesday. You will have your card the day they are available. (I should also have the top-secret equipment by then too.) (friXing free FedEx saver, if they made you pay for shipping I would say "well if I'm already paying for shipping, I might as well get next-day") :D

My Reply:

Do you know why people are hyping it because it's Quake? Because people like Quake. This game is Quake. People who like Quake will like this because it's Quake. If you don't like Quake, then you won't like this game because it's Quake.

Well, the Serious Sam 2 torrent would only go about 15KBps, so I stopped it. Downloading Halflife Source instead. :D It's only $9.95 I don't know why they didn't do that sooner.

Yes, that was TEH SUCK! But, now that it's available, it's half the cost that I was expecting.

Well, I got Serious Sam 2. Not a big fan. Some parts of the graphics are very nice. (water looked good, some of the textures looked good, and the cities up in the hills are cool) The play isn't very smooth, even after some tweaking. I can get it silky when running straight, but there is something funny about they way they handle mouse input. When you turn, it's chunky, (even if there is nothing on the screen, (so it's not slowing down or anything like that.)) The play is more of the same, but for some reason I like the old ones a little better in this department. As usual nothing makes any sense whatsoever. That's fine, it's not a very SERIOUS game. ( ) It's not bad, but not great either. It doesn't have quite the same pace that the old ones had. I uninstalled it. (Oh, by the way, a little further in they have the screaming bomb-head guys.) I may give it a whirl again in the future, but it's just not cutting it while I'm anticipating things like Quake IV and F.E.A.R. I rate it: :shades: - kinda cool  - cool graphics in some places :wtf: - weird as usual  - crazy as usual :wasted: - and a bit boring.

Wow... I totally love it, it seems to run pretty well on my system too.

I did notice the headless guys, but they look alot cooler now. They even have a funny little mustache.
