Scanners

Anybody have a recommendation for a good scanner? I'm planning to scan all of my old photos to digital which sort of prompted me to look into a scanner a bit more seriously. I'm not sure if I would scan negatives very much, but I suppose it would be a nice feature to have. I'm mostly interested in transferring my photos to digital as well as some important documents (ie drawings from kindergarten).

So far, the Canon Canoscan9950F looks the sexiest. Any advice?

I am so happy with my Canon printer that if I was going to buy a scanner I would definitely look to them first. Let me know what your research turns up.

How's your printer doin p.diddy? McNevin?

I'm still loving our printer. We just printed a couple of A4 sized prints for family members and they seem to come out at a higher quality than the local photo store. That's also why I'm considering Canon first and foremost for my scanning needs.

(btw, while looking through some old photo files on teh goebox, I came across that night-time-moon-shining-in-the-Cali-ocean pic that you printed at our place last summer. "Bye bye black ink!" )

I'm loving the Canon printer, I'm loving the Canon digital camera, I love canon!

I'm sure if i wanted a scanner, id start with canon, even if it has a silly name (canoscan)
